It is very early but football nuts love to look at who their favorite NFL teams might draft in 2010. The 2010 NFL Draft order is yet to be determined so this mock draft uses a mock drafting order based on predicted standings.
Here is my early 2010 NFL Mock Draft:
1.Oakland Raiders- Sam Bradford QB Oklahoma
It was shocking that Bradford did not come out after the 2009 college season. He would have clearly been taken towards the top of the draft. If the Oakland Raiders finish last in the NFL in record, there will be lots of pressure for them to take this franchise player. Bradford is an easy pick at this point to top most of the 2010 NFL Mock drafts.
2. Cleveland Browns- Colt McCoy QB Texas
With the second pick in the 2010 NFL Mock Draft the Cleveland Browns select …… Colt McCoy.
Assuming the Browns do this poorly, they will likely again be looking for a quarterback. Mccoy has the fundamentals to be a solid NFL quarterback. Look for Mccoy to be a top 5 pick in the 2010 NFL Draft.
3. Detroit Lions- Trent Williams OT Oklahoma
Left tackles are always a priority for NFL teams. Expect the 2010 NFL Draft to follow my mock draft in that a few tackles will again be taken in the top 10. I am guessing Williams will be the top tackle taken but Okung, Black, or Bulaga could very well be the top tackle taken depending on how the season and combines go.
4. Cincinatti Bengals-Russell Okung OT Oklahoma State
Okung is one of the top tackle prospects in football and should make any NFL owner happy to have him on their roster. The Bengals need to protect Palmer and I have them selecting a tackle to do just that in this 2010 NFL Mock Draft.
5. Kansas City Chiefs- Brandon Spikes LB Florida
Kansas City has been trying to get back to a team with a strong defense for quite awhile now. Having put together some pieces on the offense, look for them to take the top defensive player in the draft. Spikes is athletic and should produce at the NFL level right away.
6. St. Louis Rams- Gerald McCoy DT Oklahoma
With McCoy going with the sixth pick of the 2010 NFL Mock draft, I now have 3 Oklahoma Sooners taken at this point. The Sooners are loaded with talent and look for St. Louis to again be looking to upgrade either side of the ball with the best player available.
7. Miami Dolphins-Terrance Cody DT Alabama
Look for the Dolphins to take a step back in 2009 and be looking for a defensive upgrade going into the 2010 NFL draft. My mock draft has them taking Cody a top defensive tackle prospect out of Alabama.
8. Buffalo Bills- Tim Tebow QB Florida
Tim Tebow is a winner at every level thus far in his career. I expect him to find a way to produce at the NFL level and look for him to be hard to pass up for many franchises. I have him higher then most 2010 NFL Mock drafts but I just can not see him slipping too far in the draft.
9. San Francisco 49ers- Ciron Black OT LSU
Here goes another tackle in the draft. This time the big guy out of LSU. Top tackles are hard to come by and their is the potential for 4 to go in the top 15 picks in the 2010 draft.
10. Seattle Seahawks- Eric Berry S Tennessee
Call me crazy but at this point I have Berry getting selected ahead of Mays from USC. Berry seems to be the better tackler who could turn into one of those run stopper Safeties in the NFL.
11. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Ndamukong Suh DT Nebraska
Tampa Bay has some holes everywhere and will go for the best available player. At this point in this 2010 NFL Mock Draft, Suh is that top player. Suh is one of the top talents on the defensive line in college football for the 2009 season.
12. Seattle Seahawks ( from Denver)- Jermaine Gresham TE Okalahoma
Gresham from Oklahoma has a ton of talent. Look for him to get snagged up in the mid first round just like he did in my 2010 NFL mock draft.
13. Houston Texans –Taylor Mays S USC
Mays is a playmaker for USC. He really flies to the ball. Houston would do great to grab Mays at this point in the draft.
14. New York Jets- Bryan Bulaga OT Iowa
Here goes that fourth offensive tackle I was talking about. Guys like Bulaga are rare to come by and teams will be watching the combines heading into the 2010 NFL draft.
15. Jacksonville Jaguars- Greg Hardy DE Mississippi
Another top prospect on the defensive line, Hardy would be a good fit for Jacksonville. Del Rio loves defensive players and Hardy fits the billing.
16. Green Bay Packers- CJ Spiller RB Clemson
The Packers have their QB of the future with Rodgers but are not sold on Grant at running back. Expect them to take Spiller as an insurance policy if given the chance just like I picked for them in this 2010 NFL Mck Draft.
7. Washington Redskins- Brandon Lafell WR LSU
The Redskins just keep trying to get that next great wideout. In this mock draft, I have them taking the first wide receiver off of the board with Lafell from LSU.
18. New Orleans Saints- Arrelious Benn WR Illinois
The Saints roll with Brees at quarterback and love to throw the ball. Benn would give Brees another target if taken in the 2010 NFL draft by New Orleans.
19. Denver Broncos ( from Chicago)- Carlos Dunlap DE Florida
Mcdaniels better hope he gets some production from this draft pick as he gave up Jay Cutler to get it. Dunlap is a solid athlete and defensive end and should be able to make a difference at the next level.
20. Arizona Cardinals- Joe Haden CB Florida
Arizona is stacked on the offensive side of the ball and in this mock draft I have them drafting a cornerback. The second straight Gator is taken and first true cornerback in Harden.
Picks 21-32 of my 2010 NFL Mock Draft
21. Philadelphia Eagles- Sean Witherspoon LB Missouri
22. Atlanta Falcons- Dez Bryant WR Oklahoma State
23. Baltimore Ravens- Sergio Kindle LB Texas
24. Tennessee Titans- Navorro Bowman LB Penn State
25. Dallas Cowboys- Trevard Lindley CB Kentucky
26. New York Giants- Jonathan Dwyer RB Georgia Tech
27. San Diego Chargers- George Selvie LB South Florida
28. Minnesota Vikings- Damian Williams WR USC
29. Indianapolis Colts-Adam Ulatoski OT Texas
30. New England Patriots- Jevan Snead QB Mississippi
31.San Francisco 49ers ( from Carolina)- Marvin Austin -DT North Carolina
32. Pittsburg Steelers- Rolando McClain LB Alabama
That concludes my early look at the 2010 NFL Mock Draft. Please check back for more articles later as I will update this 2010 NFL Mock draft every few months until the acutally draft takes place.
