Since the Roe v. Wade decision of the U.S. Supreme Court in 1973 and the legalization of abortion, we have been “trained” to think that an unborn child is not a person, but only a fetus, until it is viable. It’s life is nothing and it has no rights until it reaches that magic age of 24 weeks, then voila, it’s a person. But until it reaches that age, we are only concerned with the mother’s rights. She must have her privacy, right? That way if the baby, I mean the fetus, is an inconvenience to her, she can just kill it – in private of course.
She will be unaware of the baby’s quickening heart rate as he violently jerks about trying desperately to get away from the torment of the abortionist’s tools, nor will she have to see the tiny body as it’s violently torn limb from limb. She may feel the slight pop as the skull is crushed for easier removal, but who knows, maybe she wont. She will walk away without a glimpse of the beheaded body nor of the dismembered limbs with their tiny hands and feet – that makes it easier to assure herself that she only destroyed a fetus. If she saw it’s remains she’d know the truth – she killed a baby.
But it’s okay. Our government allows this. It was her choice. And we wonder why our nations morals have gone down the tubes. Our children are taught it’s okay to kill your own child if it poses an inconvenience to you – no big deal. So, how are we supposed to teach our children the value of life? My nine-year-old only just learned that there is such a thing as abortion, and he asked me in horror, “Mom, how can they kill babies?” How do I explain that to him? He’s much too smart to fall for the “it’s only a fetus” line. He knows if it’s left to safely grow in it’s mother’s belly it will come out a baby, that means it IS a baby. If the fetus is destroyed that baby will not exist – it will be dead – that’s murder. Even a nine-year-old can tell you that. Of course, he has no selfish motives that encourage him to accept the lie.
If these fetuses, that are dying by the millions, are really not people, why was the federal Unborn Victims of Violence Act enacted on April 1,2004 which recognizes the unlawful killing of an unborn child as homicide. For Illinois and Kansas it states:
Illinois: The killing of an “unborn child” at any stage of pre-natal development is intentional homicide, voluntary manslaughter, or involuntary manslaughter or reckless homicide. Ill. Comp. Stat. ch. 720, §§5/9-1.2, 5/9-2.1, 5/9-3.2 (1993). Ill. Rev. Stat. ch. 720 § 5/12-3.1. A person commits battery of an unborn child if he intentionally or knowingly without legal justification and by any means causes bodily harm to an unborn child. Read with Ill. Rev. Stat. ch. 720 § 5/12-4.4.
Kansas: Under “Alexa’s Law,” signed into law on May 9, 2007, as part of HB 2062, effective July 1, 2007, an “unborn child,” meaning “a living individual organism of the species homo sapiens, in utero, at any stage of gestation from fertilization to birth,” is defined as a “person” and a “human being” for the purposes of the Kansas statutes against first degree murder, second degree murder, capital murder, voluntary manslaughter, involuntary manslaughter, vehicular homicide, and numerous battery offenses.
So, if the government says the killing of an “unborn child” at any stage of pre-natal development is a crime – how can they say abortion is okay?
If for one purpose they say “an “unborn child,” meaning “a living individual organism of the species homo sapiens, in utero, at any stage of gestation from fertilization to birth,” is defined as a “person” and a “human being” how is it they change their definition for the purpose of abortion?
Facts are facts – a baby is a baby, at ANY stage of development – and the government admits this, when it’s convenient.
They have seen our unborn babies are worthy of protection from others, and I hope one day they will see they are also worthy of protection from their own mothers. Until then, we remain a Nation with with millions of legally Unborn Victims.
