I don’t understand why the ACLU and so many members of our government are so tight against God and in favor of separation of church and state. Some of our founding fathers famous quotations are well known, and one by Benjamin Franklin says, “You will either be Governed by God, or by God you’ll be Governed”. All of our founding fathers believed in God universally, to our founding fathers, God IS our national treasure.
I don’t understand how the ACLU in their wildest misinterpretations can hear the quotes of our founding fathers, read the documents they wrote, study their personal lives and their letters they wrote to friends and family, and still demand that Jefferson spoke of separation of Church and state as the meaning of banning all material from the Bible and from God, or to remove prayer from anything and everything that has to do with government. What it really boils down to is the ACLU doesn’t believe in God and therefore every biblical principle must be removed so they don’t have to see it. It doesn’t matter to the ACLU if God exists or not, in fact the reality of God is probably, unbeknownst to them, the driving force that motivates them because His existence reminds them constantly of their own accountability.
OK, Even if you don’t believe in God, what harm do the words do, thou shall not kill, thou shall not covet thy neighbors wife, etc. What harm is done in a child bowing his head and praying for peace, comfort, success on his endeavor? Is it just the act of bowing the head? Should meditation also be eliminated? After all the goal of meditation is also to derive inner peace.
If inner peace is what people derive from believing in God, even if He doesn’t exist, who gave them the right to strip away the search for inner peace by all Americans who might need that inner peace? How dare you to take away everything that stands for goodness, kindness and love. So what who wrote them, would it make a difference if Benjamin Franklin wrote the Ten Commandments instead of Moses? Your only stance seems to be not against men, but focused against the Bible and God Himself. If He did not exist, why would your conviction be so relentless? How could you be so irritated at the name of Jesus unless somewhere in the core of your innermost soul, you know the truth and the truth convicts you. If this is the case, trying to erase His presence is not going to change anything.
Whatever happened to freedom of religion? Whatever happened to the freedom of speech? Or are these only maintained as long as you don’t speak about God or Jesus, but then that is no longer freedom is it? If you really are really in favor of American Civil Liberties as your name proclaims, then stand up for the rights of individuals to speak openly about their religious convictions the same as you do your atheistic viewpoints, regardless of where they are, whether in Congress, in schools, the court rooms or on the streets. Then and ONLY then can you truly classify yourselves as the American Civil Liberties Union. By stripping away the civil liberties of those who believe in God, you are antithetical to your own standards, an Oxymoron in action.
