Did you pull out a great huge basket, or tray or tub, or bag filled with nail polish this week in order to paint your nails for Thanksgiving? Do you actually still wear all the colors that you own? I was amazed at the sheer volume of nail polish I had accumulated, when in actuality I stick to the same few basic colors.
Consequently there had to be other uses for nail polish.

Costume jewelry can be saved with nail polish. You can keep the metals looking like new with a coat of clear polish. I do not know about you, but that is wonderful as I have even more costume jewelry than I do nail polish.

A personal pet peeve of mine is when I loose a button. If a button falls off whilst I am at work or out running errands, I may not notice it until much later that evening. Alas, the button is gone. I know most clothing comes with an extra button attached, but do you actually keep all of them? I do not. A clever trick is to paint a drop of clear polish over the top of a button’s threads. It will act as an adhesive, and keep the button from falling off. No more lost button.

One of the screws in the hinge on our side door to the garage is forever loosening. The door does not always shut is the screw is loose enough. The remedy- nail polish. Brush clear nail polish over it to prevent is from loosening. We actually used an orange color that I am no longer fond of and thus far, it is working great. The color does not even stand out at all.

With the holidays here, most of us begrudgingly welcome that additional five pounds we pack on. Therefore, our New Year’s resolution is to start walking. Brush the tips of your walking shoes shoelaces with polish (clear or color) to prevent fraying. Do it today and start that walking early. There is no reason not to, seeing as how you already have the shoes out from under your bed or from the back of your closet.
