Art Classes for California Children

by wet bin

Does your child like to color and paint? If you want to keep your children busy and their minds active this summer, you might think about enrolling them in art classes or camps. Kids love paint and paper, and almost all of them enjoy drawing. Art classes offer a great balance between discipline and creativity. There are several opportunities in California for art classes that may fill the bill for you and your child.

Some available classes take place all year long, however there are many summer programs and workshops, some free or quite reasonably priced.

Little Artists holds classes in San Diego or Poway, for youngsters ages four through teens. They feature a free trial class, so children and parents can get a view of the experience ahead of time. The Little Artists stress self-esteem as a major goal of their program, while at the same time teaching art techniques as an acquired skill. There are summer workshops coming up at Little Artists. You can find out more about this program and how to enroll here:

In the San Francisco area, parents and their little artists are lucky to have the San Francisco Children’s Art Center available to them. The center is a non-profit organization just for kids. This organization features work in all artistic media, including clay and photography. There is even a puppet theatre! They have been operating for more than 30 years, with a rich history of promoting healthy self-esteem while teaching skills in varied art forms. Story and snack time is provided for the little ones.
