According to Jesus, (Matthew 17:20), if you have faith the size of a mustard seed – and do not doubt, you can say to a mountain to move from here to there and it will move, that nothing will be impossible for you.
All my life, I thought this was really sweet and also thought, “Yes, it’s good to have faith,” but I didn’t truly literally believe that you could really tell a mountain to move and it would. That seems preposterous. I assumed (assume = ass+u+me = making an “ass” out of “u” and “me”) that this was just a parable, a story Jesus used to illustrate the point that it’s good to believe, to hold on to some kind of hope.
But Jesus didn’t just say this once. In Mark 9:23, Jesus said, “All things are possible to him who believes.” In Luke 11:9 Jesus said, “So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” In Matthew 18:19 Jesus talked about the power of faith when more than one person believes: “Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven.” In Matthew 21:22 Jesus said, “And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.
This teaching that Jesus reiterated is not just a “Christian” doctrine. Rhonda Byrne, the author of the renowned book, “The Secret” determined to expose to anyone who would listen that this phenomenon was a truth of the universe. Claude M. Bristol discussed this phenomenon in his book “The Magic of Believing.”
As I continue to research this topic, the topic of faith, and believe, I am beginning to understand the scientific relevance of this truth. I am understanding the interconnected universe moves and weaves according to our hopes and fears – whatever it is we think and truly believe. Daniel BELIEVED that he would not be eaten by the lions and he wasn’t. People who TRULY believe in their heart of hearts that they can handle venomous snakes or walk on hot coals and not be harmed, will not be harmed. Yet, those who hope but still doubt, that doubt is their undoing.
People with a terminal illnesses have been known to quickly recover because they truly believed they would. Likewise, people who were slightly ill have died because they believed they would. If we all collectively believe that the world will end in 2012 (a total misunderstanding of a prophesy originated by the Mayans) than it will. However, if we collectively believe hard enough, strong enough, and with all our hearts and souls, that we will have world peace for 1,000 years beginning in 2012 (the true prophecy of the Mayans – and my personal knowledge of what will be), than it will be so.
Hitler used propaganda to instill in the German people the belief that they were the elitist race and would overcome the world. Their faith took them far in a very evil and twisted manner, yet the stronger faith and belief of the other nations in this world was stronger and thus was victorious.
My point in all of this is that, yes, our country has had some setbacks. We WERE in a recession/depression, but now everything is going well – even great! Believe it and it is so. We are all in a win-win situation. Give a little and it will be returned to you ten-fold, perhaps even more based on your faith.
My prayer for you is that you will read this article and will realize the truth of belief. Sway from ALL negative thinking and fears, and tell yourself over and over and over GOOD thoughts and hopes. These positive thoughts ARE prayers and they will be heard by our Creator and all the of hosts of this universe. Believe and you will receive. I do and I look forward to having a world that spins in true peace and love everywhere.
