Not many people who love Bath & Body Works Temptation line products are aware that there is a lot of exclusive scents sold only in sets of 3. For one the packaging looks nothing like any of the Temptation products, and one can easily be fooled into thinking that these sets belong to another line.
There are 5 sets I know of, but they are going fast, and as of now on the site there are only 3 available sets. I being the Temptation junkie I am, bought all of them knowing that if I didn’t hurry up and make the purchase, most likely I’d have to buy them off of ebay for $30 by the time 07 rings out.
One of my favorite sets is NOT AGAIN! There are 3 products inside of the lovely drawn box that features a blond woman standing before a birthday cake. Naturally Temptations added in some scents that would match up with the occasion. This gift set would make the perfect gift for any girls birthday, or better yet, for yourself, for no occasion at all.
It comes with a 6oz 3 in 1 bath treat in chocolate chip, a 3 in 1 called Birthday Blowout, and a lip gloss in strawberry syrup flavor. A perfect ice cream like combination.
Chocolate chip smells more like caramel than it does any chocolate chip cookie I have ever smelled before, Birthday Blowout smells just like Forever Frosting. Basically it smells like vanilla frosting, and strawberry syrup smells like…strawberries.
I could not wait to get my treat in.
In the shower Chocolate Chip smells wonderful. I enjoy the warm feeling it gives me inside, without the guilt of eating an actual cookie. Birthday Blowout does the same with its vanilla frosting that fills the air when used. If you mix the two together you get an even more mouth watering scent.
Both bottles are filled with 6oz of gel. The gel is rather thick and syrup like, but it pours out easily with the click up cap.You just give it a squeeze, and the gel will easily flow out of the top.
When used as body wash both are delicious, but neither of them have lasting scents.
When used as shampoo both will make your hair feel dry, but if you follow up with conditioner, the dry feeling goes away, and with both scents my hair was left with the subtle hint of fragrance, and I especially liked chocolate chip cookie. Birthday Blowout left the hint of vanilla behind, but I was a little disappointed that it was basically Forever Frosting in a new bottle.
Using these as bubble baths proved to be a failure on both party’s. There is not birthday surprise going on in the tub when it comes to making bubbles. For one, you need to use a lot of the product to get some bubbles, secondly, it’s a waste to use so much of the gel for a bubble bath seeing how the bubbles will not last very long anyway.
Overall though both of these exclusive scents were worth the $19.00 splurge. You are getting 2 scents that are only available by buying the sets, and they will not come out or be sold separately. Both scents are wonderful and if you purchase this set, you will not be disappointed.
As of now though the last remaining sets are only $9.50, so get em’ while you can folks!
The lip gloss contains .05oz of gloss, and to be honest I am not fond of. It leaves a light pink tint to my lips, and smells and tastes like strawberries; but needs to be re-applied almost every 20 minutes. The gloss itself is a hot pinkish/red color, with a screw off top. The applicator is slanted sideways for easy application. A small squeeze, and you can glide it across your lips.
The shiny look dull out quickly, and will leave your lips feeling dry.
I will use it if I have nothing else just because the taste and scent are so pleasant, but after awhile I cannot stand how it makes my lips feel. Gritty, and chaffed.
Overall, the lip gloss is probably the biggest ‘suck’ factor in the set.
Basically I only got one item I was happy with, and that was chocolate chip 3 in 1. Birthday Blowout was fabulous as well, but the resemblance to Forever Frosting threw me off, and I felt like Temptations changed the name just to fool me into buying the same thing twice! Not Cool! I’m also not a fan of the gloss, or how it makes my lips feel.
Basically this would have been an okay set if Temptations would have added in a different scented 3 in 1 bath product. I really would like to say good things about it, because the scents are good, just repeated. How the hell is that exclusive?
For a nice box set with exclusive scents look for Runaway Bridesmaids, or Who needs Him? They are not available online as of now, but these sets can still be found at local Bath & Body Works stores.
Although this set is on sale now, your basically only paying for one good exclusive item. Unless you don’t have Forever Frosting it’s not worth it. If you do have it already your basically only getting Chocolate Chip 3 in 1 and lip gloss that sucks.
Consider the sets I mentioned earlier before splurging on this one.
