Setting up your first kitchen as a newly married couple is so exciting. Everything is fresh and new. Bridal registries are great tools that help our friends and family buy us presents that we have selected. Kitchen gadgets are a terrific choice. You may not want to spend money on a kitchen electrical gadgets right away, but if you get it as a gift you have a nice addition to your household.
Walk through the department stores and find an abundance of different kitchen gadgets. Everything looks so good in the store, where they have plenty of room to display it attractively. Most homes, however, have a limited amount of space. You have to picture how much space you have on your kitchen counter, or in the cupboards.
Kitchen appliances are conveniences that help to make cooking faster and easier. Following are kitchen appliances that your might want to put on your bridal registry.
Blender: This staple of the kitchen will probably spend a lot of time on your counter top. The useful appliance is handing for chopping, blending and mixing any number of foods. Blenders make great fruit smoothies, chop ice, mix pina coladas and more. Models that have more speeds and higher wattage will be more versatile and powerful.
Coffeemakers. There are so many types of coffeemakers. Which kind you want depends on how you like to brew coffee. Pick from single serve coffeemakers with brew pods or traditional coffeemakers, that make 4-10 cups at a time. If you like to experience with gourmet coffee, there are multiple use coffee brewers that make cappuccino, espresso and regular coffee, but they can be complicated to use.
Bread maker. If you like fresh bread, you will love a bread maker. Bread makers do take up counter space, but they make fresh tasty loaves of bread or batches of dough for rolls. You can put the ingredients in the breadmaker at night, set the timer and have fresh bread in the morning.
Choppers. Handy for chopping onions.
Crockpot or Slow cooker. Throw the ingredients into the pot in the morning and it slow simmers all day for a tasty meal in the evening.
Food Processors: Multi use machines that chop, puree and mix. As excellent time saver for the cook.
Mixer. Use a mixer, or beater, to mix batters for cakes and baked goods. A hand hand mixer is fine for most people. If you are a big time baker, a stand mixer works well.
Toaster Oven. Small oven that heats snacks, makes toast. This is a handy appliance when you don’t want to use the whole oven,` or if you just have a small item to heat.
Convection Oven: Similar to the toaster oven, but slightly bigger. The convection over has a reputation for even, faster cooking.
Waffle Iron. If you like waffles, the waffle iron heats from both sides, while making a distinctive pattern on the waffle.
Counter top grill. Popular for cooking without fat. Good for cooking meats and sandwiches.
Coffee Grinder. If you like to grind your own coffee beans, this is important to go next to your coffeemaker.
Electric Skillet: Fry pan that plugs in to the electrical outlet instead of taking up a stove top burner.
Electric Can Opener
In addition to the electrical gadgets, you will need the tools that you normally find in the kitchen drawer. These gadgets include manual can opener, spatula, basting spoon, slotted turner, ladle, mixing spoon, whisk, measuring cups, cooking thermometer, silicone mitts, apple corer and slicer, potato ricer, mandoline slicer, garlis press, cheese grater, vegetable and fruit peeler and zester.
Remember the spice rack, salt and pepper shaker, canisters and storage jars.
