There are many restaurants in New York City where you would never find a starving artist. And there are many restaurants in New York City where you would never find a superstar. However there are very few places in New York City which serve as a crossover for both the common folk, the burgeoning superstar, and the full-blown celebrity. Chelsea Grill of Hell’s Kitchen is one of those places though. Chelsea Grill serves lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch and is a great spot for anybody of median means to feel like royalty and for royalty to feel like themselves.
Say what you will about service or decor or location or anything else; it is the quality of the food which sets restaurants apart from one another. You can have the worst service in the worst location with the rattiest looking decor but if you’re going to get some great food on the other side of it and you’re not going to pay too much, it is very difficult to complain too mightily about that. Chelsea Grill of Hell’s Kitchen has a number of things going for it. In addition to serving great food and being right in the center of town; 9th Ave has sort of re-imagined itself from the late 80s and certainly the 1970s into a venerable Restaurant Row!
Ninth Avenue used to be a place people feared much the same as Time Square around the same time. However with the Disneyfication of Times Square came ninth avenues reimagining of itself as a neighborhood. No longer is Hell’s Kitchen synonymous with burglaries and riffraff populating the streets; now Hell’s Kitchen is where you’ll find designer stores and beautiful mommies walking down the street with strollers; it really is a reimagining. Right along with that, come restaurants like Chelsea Grill.
Chelsea Grill is also a great place to go for brunch. They have a number of affordable options for entrées, healthier food like scrambled white eggs or granola bland and their steak and eggs are just sublime.
If you’re not in the city on the weekends and you want to try Chelsea Grill, many people have been satisfied with the lunch offerings. Chelsea Grill have actually been voted in the top-five burger in New York City by Zagat’s a couple of times and they have consistently been voted the best waffle fries in Manhattan from the likes of New York Press.
Chelsea Grill also has salads, entrées, pasta dishes, vegetarian selections, items from the grill, and an excellent dessert menu which includes crème brûlée, double chocolate macadamia nut Tart, and their decadent Bailey’s cheesecake which must be enjoyed to be appreciated. All in all Chelsea Grill is a great place to get yourself going and recognized in New York City and become the star you always wanted to be, all the while being able to feed yourself well.
