It’s pretty rare for a person not to have a baby picture of himself or herself unless a tragedy in life caused them to lose their baby pictures. Newborn babies are commemorated in pictures to mark a chapter in their life. To capture a time when their life is beginning.
It’s a piece of history to go along with other pictures taken as they grow up and throughout their life that may one day be passed to their children and grandchildren in remembrance of who and what they looked like.
While baby pictures capture the beginning of a person’s life there usually aren’t pictures to capture the end. It could be that its figuratively too morbid for many people or its forgotten by people in mourning. But the final memory, the last image and end to a person’s life is the one taken in the coffin.
Coffin pictures, snapshots, taken when a person is lying in a casket is of a person in nice dress apparel with hair neatly in place looking their best except that they will have their eyes closed. It is a peaceful image portraying sleep and rest.
Coffin pictures are important because they give loved ones a way to remember them the way they knew them in their final years. There are circumstances, which arise that prevent a coffin picture from being taken.
A person could have been in an accident and due to appearance the funeral was held with a closed casket or the person was cremated before a picture could be taken and the funeral service was held displaying the urn or vase containing the ashes of the person’s remains. A murder, a suicide and a host of others reasons can prevent a coffin picture from ever being taken.
If a coffin picture can be taken, though, the final snapshot of someone’s life will mean a lot in bringing closure and comfort to loved ones in mourning.
A widow, for instance, could put a coffin picture on the deceased pillow when they go to sleep and when they wake up they will see their loved one sleeping peacefully.
The snapshots also help to capture the personality of a loved one in their final years.
Coffin pictures are as important as pictures taken at a family reunion and should be taken in different positions and angles of the camera. The pictures will not only show future generations the mere details of a person’s face but it captures an era. They are pictures that are a finish to a life and a piece of history.
Newborn baby pictures and death pictures are a beginning and an end.
