Also people may suck on this hard candy throughout the year as a way to get rid of bad breath, but there are so many great ways you can use this candy. Peppermints make wonderful desserts and snacks. Here are just a few ways you can turn this holiday candy into a year round treat.
Creative Uses for Peppermints #1: Brownies
A fun way to jazz up store bought brownies is to use crushed peppermints. Simply stir in the candy right before baking. When the brownies are done, you can use chocolate frosting and more crushed peppermints on top.

One of my all time favorite ways to use peppermints is to add them to milkshakes. All you need is vanilla ice cream, a splash of milk, and crushed candy. Combine in a blender and enjoy. Don’t forget to top your milkshake with whipped cream and additional candy.

Do you love to make homemade ice cream and are always looking for new ways to flavor it? Then why not use crushed peppermints? Even better, why not also add pieces of brownies? Another nice touch is to add red food coloring, so that you get a nice pink color.

One of best combinations in the world is white chocolate and peppermint. To make candy bars all you need to do is melt white chocolate and allow it to cool slightly. Stir in your crushed candy and then pour into a greased pan. Allow to firm up in the refrigerator. When set, cut with a knife that has been dipped in hot water and serve.
Creative Uses for Peppermints #5: Dipped Oreos
Another great way to use peppermints is dipped Oreos. All you need to do is melt your favorite type of chocolate and then dip in your Oreos. Place on a cookie sheet that has been lined with wax paper and top with crushed peppermints. Allow to firm up in the fridge and enjoy.
