Denver – A Denver Police officer pulled over a man on East Colfax and Hudson after the officer suspected something was going on. As the officer approached the car, the man got out of the car and began to run. The officer started chasing the man and at one point knocked him down, however the man tried to get up an run again. That’s when an unmarked police car hit the man and the officer. The man was thrown a few feet into the street, the officer remained on the hood of the car. Surveillance video from a nearby building has the incident recorded. The severity of the injuries to either men have not been released, KUSA TV reports.
Denver – Kimaya James, an ex-girlfriend of a well known gang member Brian Hicks, has been charged with intimidating a witness and conspiracy to intimidate a witness. According to authorities, James and Hicks had been talking while he has been incarcerated. During their conversation, Hicks asks James to try and convince Lonnie Clark to drop the attempted murder charges that are against him. The murder charges came about when Hicks allegedly fire shots outside of a Denver nightclub aimed at Clark in 2005. Police also have tapes between James and Clark. During one call, James told Clark “If you get up on that stand, the situation will get worse for you”, three days later, Clark was murdered outside of her apartment building. No suspects or arrests have been made as of today, KUSA-TV reports.
Sedalia – A 64 year-old man from Thornton, Roger Heath was killed while he was driving his 2005 Sterling tractor trailer on Highway 85 near Sedalia. Police assume that Heath had been driving north when he drifted into the left lane right into oncoming traffic. Heath then tried to get back in the correct lane, by abruptly changing lanes and instead hit the guardrail. The truck that was loaded with dirt and concrete then rolled almost three-quarters of a time. Unfortunately Heath who had not been wearing a seat belt was pronounced dead at the scene, although police do not suspect drugs and alcohol, further investigation will be done, as reported by KUSA-TV.
Jefferson County – Samara Stricklen, 17, was killed this past March in a car accident. Stricklen had been the passenger and Seth Mutschler was the driver. Mutschler was injured as well. The other car involved was being driven by a teenager as well. Police believe that drinking was involved. Unfortunately not to many details can be released since the other driver is a minor. Further information will be available later this week after toxicology reports come back, as reported by KUSA-TV.
Westminster – Westminster police were quite busy the other night when a call dispatched them to 72nd and Zuni near Skyline Park. When police arrived a large fight that sent five people to the hospital was broken apart. According to the Westminster police, when they arrived at the scene four adult men had ” stabbing type wounds” and a juvenile had been injured as well. Police are still trying to sort out the details and receive further information. The Westminster Fire Department transported the victims to three different hospitals in the area, according to KUSA-TV.
Pueblo – Michael and Tammy Bethel have been married for nearly 20 years. For the past 10 years, Tammy Bethel has been having sex with other men with Michael’s approval. Michael who is a former Pueblo Police officer is claiming that he was fired because of his swinging life style. Michael Bethel has filed a lawsuit against the Pueblo Police Department regarding the situation. According to the lawsuit, Bethel has been dispatched to an apartment in September 2005. It is noted that Bethel was to stand in the apartment while the female tenant removed her belongings. Since he was not on duty that particular day, his wife was with him. While in the apartment, the male tenant invited Tammy Bethel to come back anytime she wanted. According to the lawsuit, the Bethel’s returned a few weeks later, engaged in sex and videotaped it. A month later, the ex-girlfriend allegedly burglarized the apartment and took the videotape. The tenant that they had sex with, Jamarlon Keys later told police that Bethel tried to get him to dropped the charges against his ex-girlfriend in order to keep the tape from being viewed. Michael Bethel was fired from the department in 2006. Four days after his dismissal, Bethel was charged with felony witness tampering, and official misconduct. Bethel told the Pueblo Chieftain “the toughest thing that I ever had to deal with”, regarding his dismissal from the force, the Rocky Mountain News reported.
Rio Blanco County – Samuel Hedemark, 17, and Christopher Fuller, 19, who were allegedly smoking as they jumped on an oil tank in the Routt National Forest, were killed after the truck exploded. The two boys were thrown nearly 400 feet after the explosion occurred. A dog that had been on top of the tanker was killed as well. The tank that exploded was filled with 160 barrels of crude oil. Police are in the process of interviewing over 20 kids who had been at the scene when the tanker exploded. Charges could be filed against those who were at the party as well as those who provided the alcohol as reported by the Rocky Mountain News.
