While we all know that eating right, taking in adequate amounts of water, exercising, getting regular sleep and even reducing stress are great ways to improve our energy level, it is how we practice these healthy lifestyle choices that may cultivate or deplete our energy sources.
For example, we are commonly told to eat five or six meals per day to keep blood glucose at healthy levels. What is not commonly known is the type of fruits and vegetables that should be eaten. Because vitamin B is vital to producing healthy energy levels, it is also necessary to consume foods right in vitamin B. This would mean, consuming foods such as lean beef, pork and even chicken. Of course, bananas will have adequate amounts of vitamin B as well.
In addition eating well, most fatigued adults also understand the importance of a healthy nice of sleep and the need to reduce stress. While we all try to stick to a sleeping schedule, and use exercise to aide in stress relief, there are other ways in which to achieve these same results. To improve stress and, ultimately, improve sleep at night, consider taking 10 minutes during the day to meditate or simply sit in silence and allow your body to relax. Take a shower before you go to bed at night and you are almost guaranteed to notice the results on your energy level within a few days.
Always continue to exercise but spend some time each day researching one small change you can make to your exercise routine. Research has shown that simply thinking about a change in your exercise plan can improve your circulation, boost adrenaline and allow you to feel a sudden boost of energy. Also, beyond thinking about exercise, by adding this one simple and small change in your routine, you will experience a refreshed and rejuvenated attitude towards exercise each day.
As with any health complication, if you feel extremely fatigued and lethargic, day after day, be certain to obtain a complete physical examination from a health care professional as you will want to rule out other complications such as diabetes, anemia and even a thyroid disorder or cancer. When there is no underlying disorder is found, consider making these additions and changes to your existing lifestyle in an effort to boost your energy level.
