*Warning, if you click on the video link in the article below it contains very foul language and a psyched out fan. It is not a pleasant video to watch.
I was going to “leave Britney alone,” but when a dramatic fan posted a video on Youtube, which has now been played all over national television I couldn’t do it. The wailing cries of this psychotic fan are echoing across the Internet and TV. I tried to let it go, but he has drawn attention to her.
He has perpetuated the attention Britney brought upon herself by the most pathetic performance of her life on the MTV awards.
Britney, dressed in what appeared to be her bra and panties, stumbled around on stage throughout her performance. Gone were the snappy moves and hot choreography for which Britney Spears is famous . Not long ago, Britney could spin on a dime. On the MTV awards, the onetime Mouseketeer, looked more like she was playing spin the bottle than dancing. She didn’t even lip sync in sync.
Britney Spears bobbled around on stage like she was stoned. I felt sorry for her. More than that, I felt sorry for the viewers who were watching. I felt sorry that this is the point to which American pop culture has denigrated. I felt angry that she remains a pop icon.
It wasn’t only a poor performance, it was trashy. Other girls danced around Britney touching and ogling her as if she were a prima donna. It looked like Prime Time television turned porn time TV. The dance was disgusting and suggestive.
Britney Spears looked like Lucy, from I Love Lucy, when she would stumble on stage with Ricky Ricardo and bumble her way around through an act in which she didn’t belong. Britney bumbled. She also looked like an undressed deer in the headlights.
Freedoms are meant to enhance a civilized and educated society. Where has civility gone?
Where have Britney Spears clothes gone?
The only thing we know for sure is where her hair went.
I don’t mean to pick on the girl, and that is what she is, a girl gone wild. She obviously has no moral bearings, or compass with which to guide her life. She rambles and rages from one project to another, one rehab institute to another and one tattoo parlor to another. I feel for her. She looks like a little, lost girl wondering around in a glittering world of diamonds, drugs, and money.
Sadly, Britney parades herself into situations of public scrutiny and ridicule. Her dedicated minions plead for the world to leave her alone. Maybe she should consider getting dressed, going home, and leaving us alone for a while. I’m tired of seeing her parade across my TV screen, which is exactly why I cut off the MTV awards.
