Love the idea of fantasy football but spend more time pouring over celebrity gossip columns, issues of US Weekly, and People Magazine than you do in front of ESPN? If you don’t want to bother with learning the ins and outs of a game of football, consider joining Fafarazzi, the newest trend in fantasy leagues this year. Members of Fafarazzi draft big name celebrities instead of quarterbacks and running backs. If you want to brag about your team, but care more about Kevin Federline and Britney Spears than you do about Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts, Fafarazzi is the fantasy league for you!
Who will love Fafarazzi?
Anyone who likes the idea of a fantasy league but is more interested in entertainment buzz and celebrities than they are in sports will love Fafarazzi. It’s a great way to have fun with friends, poke fun at celebrity gossip, and keep up with the comings and goings of today’s top stars and has beens.
How do you draft & set up your league?
Get a group friends together and sign up as a league at Fafarazzi. Your draft can be online or offline, depending on whether or not you and your friends want to get together and draft your celebrities in person. You must enter the celebrity’s full name to earn points.
How do my celebrities earn points?
Your league will select which websites or blogs to use for scoring. Consider popular celebrity websites such as Access Hollywood, Entertainment Tonight, or Perez Hilton. Every time your celebrity’s name appears on one of these websites in a given day, you earn points. Leagues have the option of setting a cap for how many points celebrities can earn daily. At the end of the week, the team that has accumulated the most points wins.
What else do I need to know before signing up?
Fafarazzi is free to use. There are forums, FAQ pages, and a breakdown of the top celebrity stories for any given day. They also rate celebrities on whether they are hot or cold and offer a breakdown of the week’s or season’s top scoring celebrities. Any information that you need to know about celebrities or about setting up your fantasy celebrity league is readily available at their website.
If you’ve lost your spouse to fantasy football this season and are looking to start your own fantasy league, Fafarazzi might be the solution for you. This fantasy celebrity league is a great way to keep yourself entertained during football season or year round. I love the concept, and find it the perfect lighthearted companion activity to my high stress fantasy football league (where my team is 3 and 1, by the way!).
