According to a recently published Los Angeles Police Department press release, a fourth grade elementary school teacher has just been arrested. The teacher is charged with a sex crime against a 15 year old juvenile.
The incident occurred back on September 17, 2007 at roughly 9:30 at night. The teacher, the 33-year-old Rodolfo Rabonza, entered the sauna at a local health club located on the 5900 block of Sepulveda Boulevard in the city.
Police stated that when Rabonza entered the sauna, there was a 15-year-old boy using it. This boy became the victim of a sex crime when he was then reportedly assaulted by Rabonza in the sauna.
Shortly after the assault incident, Rabonza was arrested and charged with Lewd Acts on a Minor. He was then booked by police and later released after he came up with and posted his $100,000 bail.
Rabonza was employed as a fourth grade teacher at Saint Elisabeth Catholic School. He had already worked at the school for a total of five years. Both Saint Elisabeth School and the Los Angeles Archdiocese are working together with Los Angeles detectives and investigators. It is not known at the moment whether Rabonza assaulted any of his students or other students at Saint Elisabeth Catholic School. This is another side that police are trying to investigate.
At the moment, police are still looking for more information about the crime or possibly other victims of Rabonza. Anyone who has information or even additional questions are advised to immediately contact Van Nuys Detective John Eum, Sexual Assault Unit at 818-374- 0093. More information about this case will be posted at the Los Angeles Police Department web site in the form of a press release. Keep your eyes and ears open for additional information.
