The heartland of American will be lighting up the skies with fireworks to celebrate Independence Day, the birthday of America on July 4th. Towns across the state and along the Mississippi River will be celebrating with food, drink, festivals and fireworks. Townspeople will gather in town squares and parks to enjoy the summer days and celebrate the birth of a great nation. Following are some of the Fourth of July festivities in Missouri.
Kansas City Area
Bonner Blast. June 30
Merriam. June 30 – July 3. Field for Freedom, a Healing Field Flag Display. 1,000 American flags will be on display at the Irene B. French Community Center.
Kansas City. July 2. Fireworks Celebration at the Woodlands. Extended race card, live music, food 7 drink specials and fireworks.
Paola. July 3. Fireworks Display
Fort Leavenworth. July 4. Cannon salute to the Union at noon. Celebrate Leavenworth’s 150th Birthday with free cake and ice cream. Music by U.S.. Army Field Band and Chorus at 7:30 pm. Fireworks across the lake at 8 pm.
Lenexa, MO. July 4. Coca Cola sponsors the Powerade Freedom Run in Historic Old Town.
Community Days starts with a parade at 10 am. The largest fireworks display in the Kansas City Metro are will be held in partnership with City of Shawnee and Johnson County Parks and Recreation. The spectacular fireworks display with incredible grand finale. Fireworks begin at 9:45 pm.
Lansing. July 4. Fourth of July Celebration begins at midday. The day is filled with rides, games, and entertainment. The fireworks display is the finale of the festive day.
Overland Park. July 4. Star Spangled Spectacular at Corporate Woods is one the biggest and best fireworks displays in the metropolitan area. There will be food, drink and musical acts prior to the fireworks display.
Fair Saint Louis. July 3-4. Riverfront at Gateway Arch. Grounds open at 6 pm on July 3 for family entertainment. The musical lineup includes Colbie Caillat, Lifehouse, Goo Goo Dolls, Everlife, Kim Mawswsie and Cyndi Lauper. Fireworks will light th sky over the Gateway Arch at 9:15 pm on both evenings. There will be music, food and fun for the whole family on the riverfront,. The Fair is a Free event.
St. Louis LIVE on the Levee. July 6-7. The weekend concert series begins on July 6 with the tunes of Los Lonely Boys. On July 7 Emmylou Harris will perform. there will be concerts every weekend through summer.
Alton, IL. July 3. Riverfront Park Fireworks on the Mississippi
Branson, MO. July 4 7 pm. 4th of July Concert in front of the Branson Landing Fountains.
Hollister, MO. July 4. Fireworks at dusk.
Branson, MO. Chateau On the Lake.; July 4. Independence Day Traditional Bar-B-Que fallowed by Branson’s largest fireworks display.
Branson, MO. July 4. Spirit of 76 presents Independence Day, presented by Branson Veterans Task Force. Fireworks at four area parks, including: Alexander, Cantwell, Murphy and Stockstill. Free ice cream and free flag.
Jefferson City, MO. July 3-4. The Capital City of Missouri. One of the highlights of the 4th of July celebration is the Embarg Stars & Stripes Forever Parade that marches through downtown. The theme this year is True Red, White & Blue. There will be free entertainment, carnival, contest, pony rides, food and a beer garden throughout the festival district all day long. The Coca Cola Taste of Missouri Food Court is near the Main entertainment stage and the beer garden. Missouri Spirits Boulevard beer garden offers a place to enjoy relaxing beverages and live entertainment. The Carroll Rehma Motors Route 66 Classic Car Cruise celebrates automobile nostalgia. Mike Kehoe Fireworks Sky Concert is one of the largest fireworks displays in the State of Missouri. The fireworks, choreographed to music, are the highlight of of the Salute to America Festival.
Columbia, MO. July 3. True Freedom Festival and Blood Drive (The American Red Cross)Parade The Family Worship center of Columbia present musical entertainment including The Martins and local artist Caleb Rowden. There will be food and carnival games. Fireworks will be choreographed to live music. Tickets $7 at the door, $5 in advance.
Gardner, MO. July 4. Tailgate party followed by American Legion Fireworks.
Great Grafton Fourth of July Celebration. July 4. There will be food and drink specials, live entertainment and games for children. Watch the fireworks from the confluence of the Illinois and Mississippi Rivers from the decks of one of the many decks along the riverbanks.
O’Fallon, MO. July 3-4. 27th Annual Heritage Freedom Fest. Ozzie Smith Sports Complex has live entertainment, and fireworks both nights.
Oak Grove, MO. July 4. Celebrate America’s birthday with a show of fireworks at Webb Park starting at 10 pm.
Parkville, MO. July 4-7. Parade at 10 am in the historic district. Carnival from 11 am to 11 pm. Fireworks over the Missouri River at 9:45 pm.

Vienna, MO. July 7. Watermelon Bash by the Vienna Assembly of God sponsors a free concert with Caleb Rowden. Free food starting at 1 pm. Fireworks in the evening.
