I have always liked most hair-care products I have used by Garnier Fructis, and when I came across a can of Garnier Fructis Curl Construct Mousse, I went ahead and bought it.
I either wear my hair up, or straight, and because I have wavy/curly hair naturally, I hate it. Everyone hates their natural hair! I was sick of my two same old styles though, and figured why not bring the curl out in me? My hair is super thick, it’s long, and mostly it is frizzy. When done up right with a gel or mousse though it can look really stunning.
I bought the green can for nearly $4, and hoped for the best.
The bottle claimed that by using Garnier Fructis Curl Construct Mousse. my hair would curl up and stay curled up with the fruit micro waxes that are in the mousse. By using Garnier Fructis Curl Construct Mousse I would be able to define and boost my curls, while controlling frizz.
It sounded pretty decent, it sounded pretty neat!
At home I showered first, this is the best way to get my curl going. I then towel-dried and read the instructions, which basically stated to shake well before using. Yah think!?
Next I held down on the applicator pump/nozzle. I applied a decent amount of the white creamy mousse to my palms and scrunched it into my hair. The scent was a nice one for me. It was a heavy fragrance of fruit and flowers. I recall lilac mostly. I liked it, but for others it may be a bit…much?
I applied more, and some more, until I felt like I had enough to cover my entire head from root to end. After I had the desired amount for my hair, I notice immediately how soft and manageable my hair hard gotten. However I also noticed how sticky my hand had gotten.
My hair dries extremely slowly, and it took quite a few hours to see just how well my hair had turned out. After checking myself out in the mirror, I was able to see my curls, that’s for sure. But my hair felt sort of sticky, and weighed down; not only that I did have some frizz at the top of my head.
As my hair began to dry some more, the curls began to frizz out and loose their hold.
Overall, I was pretty damn disappointed with it, regular dollar store gel does a better job, and my curls stay. I don’t know why I thought a crappy mousse would do the trick of holding curls in my hair type. My result was a frizzy carrot top look.
Ways to avoid Garnier Fructis Curl Construct Mousse:
You can avoid this one at any super store or drug store. By avoiding it, you will save yourself $4 – $5.
Stick to the transparent colored gels. They work wonders. They curl your hair, and the curls stay.
