With Harry Potter mania sweeping the nation once again this summer, it’s no wonder why kids and adults alike are getting into the craze. These “Potter Parties” are a great way to get together with other Harry Potter fans and get into crafts, readings, games, movies, and all the other great Harry Potter mania. A Birthday Card for Harry Potter’s Birthday on July 31st
The Highland Park Library in Highland Park, Illinois has created a huge birthday card for the boy wizard himself. The card will be posted in the youth department at the library for a total of 10 days, starting July 21st and ending July 31st, just in time for Harry’s birthday. If you’re in the area, stop by. Kids in kindergarten through eighth grade are more than welcome to sign the card with their name or even write a small message wishing Harry Potter a happy birthday. Hogwarts Final Exams, Potions Classes, and Quidditch Matches
If you’re in the area, stop by Cook Park Library in Libertyville, Illinois. This library vows to have some of the best Harry Potter activities. Like the title states, there will be quizzes, or “final exams,” on the book, a potions classes, and some fun and exciting quidditch matches. The Ultimate Harry Potter Trivia for Older Kids
At the Fremont Public Library in Mundelein, Illinois, kids in grades seven through twelve can join in on a huge Harry Potter trivia quest. Kids can also predict whats going to happen in the book and have their ideas posted in the youth department of the library. This event is set to start at 4 p.m. on July 20th. Harry Potter Birthday Party
Zion-Benton Public Library in Zion, Illinois will be throwing a bash for Harry Potter’s birthday. The festivities will begin on the boy wizard’s birthday, July 31st, from 7-8 p.m. Wizard and magical treats will be served along with craft activities and a Harry Potter quiz. For this event, you must register ahead of time by calling (847) 872-4680. If you’re in south-eastern Wisconsin, this is a great event since the library is close to the Illinois-Wisconsin border.
Harry Potter Trivia Contest
Check out this Harry Potter event at the Round Lake Area Public Library in Round Lake, Illinois. The trivia contest will be held all the way from July 9th to July 27th. The Huge Harry Potter Extravaganza
If you’re in or near Gurnee, Illinois, you’ll want to check this one out! Warren-Newport Public Library is offering a huge Harry Potter party with tons of games, crafts, and contests. The activities will start on July 21st between 2-4 p.m. Registration is limited to Warren-Newport library cardholders, but the library promises that the events are worth getting a card.
