With the recent craze going around about everything Harry Potter, everyone is searching for great Harry Potter themed gifts and keepsakes. Scene It? has an entire line of games with specific scenes. This new Second Edition Harry Potter Scene It? is an excellent gift for any lover of this wizarding world.
Common complaints of the first edition game included that it simply wasn’t challenging enough. Apparently, fans were able to get through just about every question with out many stumps. The second edition has been made much more difficult and includes clips and trivia questions from the first five movies, including the newly released Order of the Phoenix.
The game features several ways to advance tokens on the board. Trivia cards are one option for answering questions. Each card has a question for each category: Hogwarts, with questions referring to the happenings at the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry; Wizarding World, for all those questions about the Harry Potter stories outside of Hogwarts; and Muggles which includes trivia about the non-fantasy world of Harry Potter.
On the provided DVD, you’ll find clips from each of the first four movies that require an answer at the ending. Also seen are puzzlers from many categories including Hagrid’s Hut, Invisibles, Divination, Riddle Letters, and Spellbinder.
The final way to advance forward or move backwards on the game board is by use of the House Points. These are similar to the Community Chest or Chance cards in the game Monopoly. Scenarios are given and a number of spaces is awarded or taken away.
The new Flextime Game Board is created in such as way to allow shorter games to be played. For a full length game, unfold the board completely. For shorter game play, leave it folded up and game pieces can be moved around in a single circle without having to travel around the entire board.
This Second Edition Harry Potter Scene It? has proven to be quite challenging to fans of the series. However, those who have read the books will have a small advantage. Some questions have been found on the cards and after movie clips with answers that would only be known by book readers.
For example, one card question refers to The Order of the Phoenix. It asks where Potter and his friends are when they find Neville Longbottom visiting his parents. Book readers would know the answer right away; however those who watch the movies only will have missed out on this information as it wasn’t included in the Order movie.
From personal experience, the Muggle questions are the most difficult. These are questions about how the movie was made, what actors play which parts, what other movies some actors played in, etc.
Those who have simply seen the movies once or twice and not read the books might have a bit of a difficult time getting through it. But those who might consider themselves to be more “Potter-savvy” will have an excellent time answering the riddles about “the boy who lived” and the story of his life.
The Second Edition Harry Potter Scene It? is a must have for any Harry Potter fan! A good time is guaranteed! If nothing else, at least you’ll get to watch various clips from the first four movies and test how much you truly know your Potter trivia.
