To Make This Message Board In You Window You Will Need:
Ribbons (quite a few yards)
Upholstery tacks or push pins
That’s all folks
The first step is to decide on the pattern you want your ribbon to travel in. I am going to give instruction for how to create this easy message board using diagonal lines, but you will see they could easily be vertical and horizontal.
Now, the first step is to take a nice piece of ribbon, that is at least one inch wide and tack it into place in the top left corner of the window frame. You should cut the end of the ribbon on and angle so it looks great. You could also apply some no fray product if you have any.
Now, run this first ribbon diagonal across the window and tack it into place in the bottom left of the window frame. Trim the end of the ribbon off at an angle as before.
You could also cut the ribbons on the message board, fold the end over to create a neat edge, then tack them into place.
Now, place the second ribbon about three inches to the right of the top left edge of the first ribbon. Run this diagonal following the lines of the first ribbon and tack into place as before. Continue this covering the top right area.
Now, repeat working to cover the bottom left area.
Now, to create the diagonal lines that will create the diamond pattern simple star in the top right and tack a ribbon into place. You can run this diagonal to the bottom left. You can weave this in and out for more stability in the shabby chic message board.
Continue this process until the diamond pattern has been completed.
Now, to hang office notes, school photos, movie stubs, and more on the vintage message board all you need to do is attach some wood clothes pins. They are easy to find and super affordable. You can even stain them with colored wood stain to give them a more finished and important look!
Simply pin the clothes pin to the ribbon and attach anything you want!
