Those running the state of California have either been very big spenders over the last several years or someone simply was not keeping up with the math somehow. As if California had not already had its hands full with the steady rush of natural disasters, Hollywood celebrity need to know couples crisis. It now has taken a hard hit that could see the bottom line dropping out too as the state is declared to be up to its eye balls in massive debt.
The head of this fiscal is the Governor of the state of California Arnold Schwarzenegger. He finds his administration facing its most challenging dilemma yet. The state has not money and no money means something has to give. Unfortunately, this does not spell great news for the low incomes areas of California as they are the first to feel the budget crunch to cut back on annual spending to create a financial life line of some sort. The hardest hits area of the Governor Schwarzenegger budget slashing going are the area that take up the most amount of funds allocated throughout the fiscal year.
Heath and Education services are the two most highly funded social services in the budget. Sadly, the communities that can only survive with their social service funding are now feeling the backlash of living in a state maxed out. The education sector especially is worried as government slashing of the budget is already sending ripple effects through California’s poorest and most needy communities. Many education school based services are being left without funding causing school districts to either fund the programs out of teacher’s personal funds or are being scrapped altogether.
School teachers in general are also feeling their services being put onto the chopping block in order that the Governor Schwarzenegger quest to lean done his $2 billion state debt with several hundred job cuts can get on the way. Teachers working at schools in these hard hit neighborhoods feel the coin of the matter is very one sided in the poorer communities. The consensus is that for every 1 teacher let go in the wealthy and prominent neighborhoods some 7 teachers are fired in the poor less affluent neighborhoods where teacher and education are most needed to facilitate a better future for these kids who will otherwise be over looked and fall into the cracks of the system or society.
For as long a Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger only looks at the poorer communities to save and make cut backs in the backlash the state of California will ultimately be faced with is an even greater problem within those very same poorer communities in the long run.
