I am in my early 50’s, and as such I have started to get those nagging laugh lines around my eyes, and even a few on my upper lip. The result of too many years worshipping the sun when I was younger. Now it’s time to remedy some of the damage, but with all the different anti-aging products on the market today, finding one that is both affordable and that does what it claims can be a daunting task.
I like all natural products when I can find ones that work, and I’ve tried and liked other cosmetics made by Jason Natural Cosmetics in the past. When this anti-aging product was on sale at my grocery store (in the health food section), for around $20, it was worth trying.
The product comes in a small one ounce container, with an eye dropper applicator. If you are used to a cream or lotion, the texture of this can take some getting used to. It’s a clear gel like consistency, and it’s quite thick, and even a little bit sticky. I would compare it to an aloe vera gel as far as it’s texture goes.
Unlike some anti-aging products that are water based, this serum is oil based, to give it more moisturizing power that is also longer lasting.

Using This Product
It only takes a small dime sized dollop of Jason Hyper-C Serum to moisturize your entire face. The instructions say to apply it to the face and neck with long upward strokes. It is appropriate for either morning use, evening use, or even twice a day if you desire.
Jason Natural Cosmetics claims that this contains 10% of Ester C, a potent and concentrated form of Vitamin C, which is an antioxidant that will help fight the environmental stresses of free radicals. Other antioxidants in this formula are Vitamin E, Green Tea extracts, and Grape Seed complex.
The product claims you will notice improvement in skin clarity with just one application. It is supposed to boost the production of collagen and help with the renewal of vital skin cells, leaving you with younger and brighter looking skin.
I have used other Vitamin C products in the past, the most recent being one made by Avon. I was not happy with the scent of Avon’s Vitamin C pods, but I don’t mind the smell of Jason Hyper-C Serum when used during the daytime. While it has a scent similar to citrus, there are other scents that make it almost a perfumy smell. I find it can interfere with my perfume, and since any scents bother me when I am trying to sleep at night, I never use this just before going to bed. I find it works best if I apply it a few hours before retiring.
Even at the age of 51, I still get the occasional acne on my chin from time to time. I find that when I use this serum on my skin, the acne heals up faster than just washing my face alone and applying an every day moisturizer.
As far as moisturizers go, I give this 4 out of 5 stars. My skin is getting drier as I age, and the area above my eyebrows gets particularly dry and flaky. This Jason Cosmetics Hyper-C Serum really does absorb well into my skin and gets rid of the flakes. I also have some dark areas on my cheeks, and while I am sure they aren’t the dreaded “age spots”, I am not sure what they are. This serum does help even out the skin tone so these areas aren’t as noticeable.
Jason Natural Cosmetics has been around since 1959, and has notched out a nitche for themselves by producing pure, balanced cosmetics. Their ingredients are often organic, high quality and natural. The ingredients they use are actually food grade, and that can’t be said about many of the products on the store shelves today. Many companies will opt for petrochemical ingredients because they are much cheaper, the problem is they are also vastly inferior.
For $20, this is a great product and one that I will consider purchasing again when my supply runs out.
