Just a few days ago I dyed my hair a dark brown. It’s nearly black, but seeing how black was not an option in the John Frieda collection of Shine Release shampoos, I settled for Chestnut to Espresso.
The Shine Release Moisturizing Shampoo with Light Enhancers: Chestnut to Espresso is part of the brilliant brunette collection. A few weeks ago my hair color was part of the Sheer Blonde collection.
The John Frieda Shine Release Moisturizing Shampoo with Light Enhancers: Chestnut to Espresso is made for natural or colored hair. So really it is safe for you; you natural brunette….and you, you poser!
These shampoos and hair care products from John Frieda are specially made for your hair color, the Shine Release Moisturizing Shampoo for chestnut to espresso hair color, is formulated to rehydrate dull, brittle, dry hair. My hair is neither as of right now, but I know that over time my dye job can and most likely will look dull and dry if I do not hydrate it now.
Better safe now, than sorry later right?
I had used the Sheer Blonde formula before I went to my darker locks, and the results were pretty nice, so I figured, the Brilliant Brunette collection would be just as well.
Seeing how I was having an awful day yesterday, I figured I would treat myself to something necessary. Hair care! That’s necessary right!?
I purchased the stand up tube for $5.99 at a local CVS, and went home to use it.
It’s nice, it has a musky smell to it, that is not floral nor is it foody. It smells sort of chemically, but with a nice clean tone to it. I liked it. It reminded me of a spa type scent.
The shampoo is a brownish amber color, and is pretty thick. I like thick shampoos, for my hair type they tend to add a hell of a lot more moisturization to my locks.
I used about a half handful of the shampoo and worked it into my hair until I had a rich creamy lather going on. It was quite nice, and actually felt pretty moisturizing.
After rinsing though, my hair was left feeling pretty dry. It was nothing a nice conditioner couldn’t take care of though.
Once I got out of the shower, and I tried brushing, I noticed my hair was pretty knotty. I didn’t like the feeling, and usually knotty hair fresh out of the shower means that the dry results are going to suck.
I let my hair air dry, and checked my results as it dried more and more. My hair was sort of frizzy, but it was shiny. Really shiny. I liked! I iron straightened my hair, and the result were spectacular. My hair was left looking like a mirror, and feeling like silk. I liked! I liked a lot!!!
My next purchase will be the sister conditioner. I am sure the result will be 2x’s better than just using the conditioner. We shall see!
Although stepping out of the shower my hair was left knotty, it was left extremely shiny. The shampoo did in fact improve my hair though, and in just one shampooing. I recommend straightening your hair after using this, It really shows the mirror shine effect on pin straight hair.
Every brunette should give John Frieda’s Shine Release Moisturizing Shampoo with Light Enhancers: Chestnut to Espresso a try!
-There are different colors to choose from in the Brilliant Brunette collection. So make sure you purchase the appropriate shade for your hair color! You won’t be dissapointed!
