The 4th of July brings out the paraders in Massachusetts. By bike, by boat and by foot, they will march to celebrate the 4th of July and the joys of summertime.

Assonet July 4th Parade: July 4, 2009

The Assonet parade starts at Copicut Road and goes to Hathaway park. Start time is 10am.

Ayer 4th of July Parade: July 4, 2009

The holiday parade takes place on Main Street. The time has not been finalized and publicized. For more information please contact the Town of Ayer, (978) 772-8220.

11th Annual town of Barnstable 4th of July Parade: July 4, 2009

The 11th Annual town of Barnstable 4th of July Parade starts at 4pm and proceeds down Main Street. This year’s them is “America and All That Jazz.”

Chatham Fourth of July Parade: July 4, 2009

The Chatham Fourth of July parade is a local favorite. This year’s theme is “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.” It starts at 9:30 and proceeds down Main Street to the the corner of Shore Road and Veteran’s Field at 11:30am, according to organizers.

Chelmsford Fourth of July Parade: July 4, 2009

Chelmsford does the 4th of July right, with a huge parade. It starts at 10am and moves from Drum Hill, along Route 4 to Downtonwn Chelmsford. For more information please call (978) 250-8415.

Danvers Highlands Horribles Parade: July 4, 2009

Danvers hosts its Horribles Parade at 11am. it begins at the Corner of Collins and Beachwood Streets.

Gloucester Horribles Parade: July 3, 2009

The annual Gloucester Horribles Parade will have your checking the date on your cell phone to make sure it’s not Halloween. The parade starts at 6pm and creeps its way through downtown Gloucester. Best viewing spots include Stage Fort Park and Stacy Boulevard, according to the organizers. For more information please call (978) 283-1601.

Edgartown, 4th of July Parade: July 4, 2009

The Edgartown Independence Day Parade takes place on Main Street at 5pm on Saturday, July 4, 2009 For more information please call 508-939-0199.

Falmouth Bike and Carriage Parade: July 4, 2009

This one is for the kids, and their bikes and carriages. The parade is from 10am until 1pm, with a rain date of July 5, 2009. Location: Main Street in Falmouth.

Hingham Favorite Places Parade: July 4, 2009

The theme of this year’s Hingham 4th of July parade is “Favorite Places.” The parade starts at the Hingham High School on Pleasant Street and ends at Station Street in Hingham, Massachusetts.

Manchester By the Sea Independence Day Parade: July 4, 2009

Manchester By the Sea Independence Day parade takes place at 9am, and steps off at the high school. The parade marches down Vine Street, School Street, Plesant, Pine, Central and Union Streets and finishes at the Coach Field Playground.

Natick 54th Annual Parade: July 4, 2009

The theme of this year’s parade is “Celebrating the Great Outdoors in Natick.” The Natick 54th Annual parade starts at the 9/27 Plaza and heads down Route 27 and 135 into Natick Center.

Pittsfield Fourth of July Parade: July 4, 2009

The Pittsfield Fourth of July Parade starts at 10am at Park Square. The prade winds itself through downtown and ends at Wahconah Park.

Plymouth July 4th Parade: July 4, 2009

The historic town of Plymouth, Massachusetts kicks off its 2009 4th of July celebration with a 4th of July parade on Saturday, July 4, 2009 at 9:30pm.

Plymouth Parade Route: The parades starts at Cordage Park Marketplace, Court Street, North Plymouth and moves through downtown, via Court Street. From Court Street the parades makes its way down Main Street Extension to Water Street, and ends near Plymouth Rock.

Pepperell Fourth of July Parade: July 4, 2009

The Pepperell Parade starts at 12:30pm at the Pepperell Town Hall. The parade route includes Main Street, Hollis Street North, Tucker Avenue and ends at Nissitissit Middle School.

Pittsfield Independence Day Parade: July 4, 2009

Rockport Firemen’s Parade: July 4, 2009

The annual Rockport Firemen’s Parade steps off at 6pm, kicking off Rockport’s 2009 4th of July celebration. A concert by the Legion Band takes place after the parade, at Back Beach.

The bonfire lights up the Back Beach at 8:30pm. These are free events for Rockport residents as well as visitors. The location of these events is Downtown, Rockport, Massachusetts, on the tip of Cape Ann. For more information please call (978) 283-1601.
