John McClane (Bruce Willis) is back. This time he has to deal with technobabble and he’s not up for anything that doesn’t have him punching or shooting. So he has to join forces with Matt Farrell (Justin Long) who knows what a Fire Sale is. That wonderful technical thing is killing America from the inside out and was created by Thomas Gabriel (Timothy Olyphant) who has a beef to pick with those in the higher ups who wouldn’t listen to him. McClane doesn’t care he just wants to punch him in the face and save America from an idiot so he has to use Farrell as the key to get there. Live Free or Die Hard.
I like the Die Hard movies. I like them because they have awesome actions scenes. This one is no different. The action scenes are popcorn popping cool. The trailers show some of them but they do not show all of them. One of the best fight scenes I’ve ever seen in a movie was between Willis and Maggie Q, who plays Mai. It’s so great. It’s really outrageous but that’s what makes the Die Hard movies action wonders of the film world. It’s one of those movies where you just want to shout, “PUNCH HER IN THE FACE!” And when McClane does you’re like YES!
Live Free or Die Hard is an action wow. I really liked it. I’m not one of those blow it up fans and beat them until their mother feels it but I give exception to Die Hard films. This entire thing about a Fire Sale is new to me and I’m not a huge technical person so I figured how bad it was when they explained it. Thinking that it’s not possible I would think is stupid but apparently government must think that or a movie wouldn’t be made mocking such thinking.
Willis and Long make a great team. Kevin Smith had me laughing with the scenes he was in. He is again in a movie with Timothy Olyphant (they were in Catch and Release together…if you don’t remember that movie it’s because it was out and then hit the DVD shelves almost within the same week) who has a crazy eye look and Maggie Q is a demon woman who made a fantastic fight scene.
Live Free or Die Hard had me excited through the whole film. I think it’s not going to fail the liking of those who love the Die Hard films. I am most likely not going to own this movie but I sure the hell would watch it should it come on TV or again should someone rent it. I would also like to state that I like the phrase Live Free or Die Hard. I’m thinking that’s a good motto to live by…or die by.
