Neda has gained worldwide attention as a symbol of the unrest in Iran after the election results. She and her father were peacefully observing the protests when she was shot in the heart. Someone videotaped the attempt to save her life. At first she is still conscious; her eyes are open and moving. Then large amounts of blood spurt from her mouth and nose as she quickly dies. Her father says: “Neda stay with me” on the video.
The world wishes Neda was still with us. She will forever be a tragic symbol of the horrific reign of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in Iran. His corrupt government lacks humanity and denies reality. Denying reality will now be harder to do with the horrific video of Neda’s death now viral on the Internet, viewed by people world wide.

The video documents how a doctor on the scene tried to save her life and her father was with her as she lost her life. Neda is gone forever, lost to the corrupt government in Iran. She will be a symbol forever of an unjust government taking revenge on protestors who marched to obtain the truth about the Iran election results.
Neda Agha-Soltan was born in 1982 according to Break for News. Her name means “message” in Persian. Anyone who watched the video of her dying clearly gets the message that in Iran human life means nothing to the government. The video is very disturbing and tells the world that to be born in Iran means one is always at risk of death from the government. Neda is believed to have been shot to death by the Basiji military operatives of the Iranian government.
The protests continue as Iran continues to murder innocent citizens and to arrest journalists. The people of Iran are showing their disdain for the president and may pay for participation in the protests with their lives.
