The new 2012 trailer was finally released, giving fans a little bit more of an idea what the film is actually going to be about. The first 2012 trailer simply showed a few images coupled with text that spelled out what might happen if the government really knew that the end of the world was coming. The new 2012 trailer is also a depiction of the next level of “world-destruction” type films, and the director of 2012 has really upped the ante when it comes to action films. If you haven’t heard about 2012 yet, take a look at the new trailer, which is linked on page two of this article.
Teaser web-sites, as well as a big promotion to tease about the world coming to an end was created by the production companies involved with the creation of the film 2012. They even went as far as creating an organization that has been counting down the clock to a point where the world will come to an end as we know it; not coincidentally, that will happen in the year 2012. By taking information from the Mayan culture, that the world will come to an end on December 21st, 2012, they have created a movie that hopes to draw the interest of people looking to not only learn, but also to see how it is depicted on the big screen.
The new trailer for 2012 is going to become the biggest selling point for this blockbuster movie, as it totally makes every end of the world movie before this one look tame. Rather than use ideas that have been done before when it comes to explosions and destruction of the planet, it appears that the people behind 2012 have taken action up a notch, and are going to be presenting a film that even Michael Bay and Jerry Bruckheimer would be jealous of when they watch it. Based on something predicted in the ancient Mayan calendar, the Earth begins to fall apart, and Director Roland Emmerich is there to show it to us.
There are a lot of recognizable cast members in 2012 that will get the attention of viewers early on, including John Cusack and Amanda Peet as the stars, with Woody Harrelson, Thandie Newton, Morgan Lily, Oliver Platt, and Chiwetel Ejiofor joining the fun. The newest President of the United States is Danny Glover, and the supporting character is going to be the non-stop destruction of many recognizable pieces of the Earth’s landscape. It’s a good cast, the preview looks absolutely amazing, and even if the movie turns out to be average at best, the special effects look to break a new mold when it comes action and disaster films. Kudos to Roland Emmerich.
