Britney Spears latest CD, Blackout, which isn’t due out for another month, has already been leaked onto the Internet. This could be good news or bad news for the pop star. Britney has faced heightened criticism after her poor performance at the MTV Video Music Awards, her rising feud with ex-husband Kevin Federline and her turmoil-driven personal life that has left her, at times, bald and, at other times, checked into rehab.
Music blogs like Uh Like That have posted a CD entitled Britney Spears – Blackout. On the new CD are 19 songs which will most likely be included on her newest CD. This CD has yet to have a specific release date but it has been announced that it will be released sometime in two months; either way, these songs have been leaked weeks too early!
The Britney Spears – Blackout CD includes a total of 19 songs:
1. Gimme More ft. Lil’ Mama
A remix of Britney Spears’ latest hit, which as reached #1 on the radio stations. This remix includes a rap introduction and interlude by rapper Lil’ Mama, who has also done remixes with artists like Canadian punk-star Avril Lavigne on her hit song, “Girlfriend.”
2. Break The Ice
3. Got Me High
4. Tell Me What You’re Sippin’ On
This song was leaked online about three weeks before the rest of the CD was leaked and has met luke-warm reviews from downloaders.
6. Heaven On Earth
7. A Song About You
This track has received a lot of raves from music lovers who have downloaded Britney Spears’ new CD. The song’s sound is somewhat like an amped version of her past tracks and will probably be a hit in the club scene.
9. Get Back
10. Get Naked
11. Pull It
13. Ooh Ooh Baby!
14. Kiss You All Over
15. Baby Boy
16. Love Is A State Of Grace
18. Cold As Fire
19. Let Go
So what does the release of Britney Spears’ new CD mean for her? Is it good or bad?
On one hand, Britney is receiving a lot of hype over the first single off of her new CD, a song called “Gimme More.” If you’ve been listening to any Top 40 radio station, you will have heard this song with its iconic chorus. With the entire CD now available online, Britney’s most loyal fans now have access to her new music and can, and have been, promoting it on blogs and online message boards. As it has been said before, there is no such thing as bad publicity. People are talking about these new songs, and that is some much-needed promotion for Britney Spears who has to battle a negative public image.
On the other hand, music executives and Britney Spears’ record label are undoubtedly angry and frustrated that Britney’s new CD has been leaked so far ahead of its official release date. Record labels don’t like it when people download their music on the Internet, let alone download it before it’s even been released to the public.
Either way, Britney Spear’s new CD is out there on the Internet. She is definitely on the comeback, and it will be interesting to see her return to stardom after being made the laughing-stock of tabloids and gossip magazines. Will her listeners and fans take her back? Only time will tell, and that time has come a lot earlier than Britney Spears’ record label planned.
