Actraiser

Actraiser is a one player game that was first released on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Now Nintendo Wii players can download this title for just 800 Wii points. According to Wikipedia, Actraiser was first released on the Super NES on December 16th, 1990. This game was released by Enix who was a famous RPG maker back in the days of the Super Nintendo.

The story revolves around a deity known as “The Master” who wants to take over the world. Another creature called the Tanzra, is the enemy of The Master. The six guardians of the Tanzra attacked The Master and The Master went back up into the sky to heal his injuries. He put a barricade around his sky palace and fell into a long deep sleep. While The Master was sleeping, Tanzra took the world and divided it into six parts. Each one of the six parts is ruled by one of the six guardians of Tanzra. Several hundreds of years have now passed. The Master now wakes up and the Actraiser adventure begins.

Nintendo was very strict on censorship when this game was released. The original characters were actually named God and Satan. Nintendo changed the names to The Master and Tanzra. According to Wikipedia the game was put into gamespot.com’s “Greatest Games of All Time” category.
