Oh nuts! Here we go once again with another food recall. The latest company to be added to the list now is the Georgia Nut Company. The Georgia Nut Company is recalling products that contain shelled pistachio nuts. They are recalling the nuts because they MAY be contaminated with the Salmonella organism. According to the company this recall is not linked with the peanut butter and peanut recall just a huge coincidence I suppose. People probably thought this peanut butter and nut scare was gone by now since nobody has heard anything lately, but apparently the scares just keep sneaking upon us month after month. It really makes you think what is safe to eat and what is not.
The following pistachio product recall items are the following:
Have you bought any bulk or custom packages of the deluxe mixed nuts at the Georgia nut retail stores in Illinois? If you answered yes, please do not consume anymore of them. No reports have been made about anyone getting sick from the nuts, but salmonella is a huge scare if there are any possibilities so beware. Another place that sold the recall pistachio nuts is the Georgia Nut’s Chocolate House located in Greenfield, Wisconsin. The date on the recall package is December 3- through March 23, 2009. If you purchased pistachio nuts from the website you might as well forget those too.
The next pistachio product recall is the bulk deluxe mixed nuts with shelled pistachios. If you purchased your nuts from a company called Not Just Nuts in Wauwatosa Wisconsin with the date of December 5, 2008- March 24, 2009 either throw them out or bring them back for a full refund. The company says you will get a full refund or replacement of the nuts. Whatever you do don’t take the chance with other pistachio nuts right now.
Third pistachio recall goes to the bulk or custom packages of the dry roasted shelled pistachios. If you purchased the nuts at any Georgia nut retail store in Skokie and Glenville Illinois, Georgia Nut’s Chocolate House in Greenfield WI or the website itself discard. The date on the package is dated December 3, 2008- March 23, 2009.
Last pistachio nut recall item is the mixed nuts deluxe roasted and salted bulk with shelled pistachios. These nuts being recalled were located in the produce area at Dominick’s finer food stores in the Chicagoland area. The date on the packages should read December 10, 2008- March 25, 2009.
