Well, you would think I would be deterred after the butt kicking my picks took last week but yet, I am not. I still have a phenominal season record standing at 43-19 through four weeks of NFL action. Yes, I went a horrible 6-8 this past week, and yes, I got a bit wild with my picks due to being so red hot. This week I am going back to my regular picking style and should be back to my typical results. Hang in there and we will make it to the office pool promised land. Here are the picks for week five of NFL action:
Miami at Houston – Houston is going through some growing pains right now, but so are the lowly Dolphins. The Texans will find a way to win at home. Texans win.
Atlanta at Tennessee – The Falcons looked much improved, but Vince Young and the Titans are on a roll. Titans win.
Jacksonville at Kansas City – The Jags needed a bye this past week to prepare for the suddenly awake Chiefs. Kansas City will go back to sleep this week. Jags win.
NY Jets at NY Giants – In the battle of New York, the Giants are the hotter team. The defense made Philly literally cry. More crying, but this time it is the Jets. Giants win.
Carolina at New Orleans – Carolina is facing the rested Saints after a bye week at New Orleans. Sounds bad for the Cats but they love the road. Also, the Deuce is out for the year. Give the edge to the Panthers because they have the Saints number. Carolina wins.
Arizona at St. Louis – The Rams are fighting for a win, and they finally get one in the comforts of home. Rams win.
Cleveland at New England – The Patriots win. Period.
Seattle at Pittsburgh – In a game where both teams are tough, expect Pittsburgh to win at home. Steelers win.
Detroit at Washington – The Lions and Washington is an interesting match up. After the win in Chicago, Kitna’s prediction of ten wins for the Lions is not looking quite as silly. This one smells like a let down week for the Lions to me. Redskins win.
Tampa Bay at Indianapolis – Tampa is on fire, but against Indy it won’t matter. Colts win.
San Diego at Denver – Denver will control this contest, as the Bolts seem like a beaten team. Broncos win.
Baltimore at San Francisco – Baltimore will dominate the short handed Niners. The defense will come back to life this week. Ravens win.
Chicago at Green Bay – Chicago at Green Bay, Lambeau field, Brett Favre, and prime time television. What more could a football fan want? Packers win.
Dallas at Buffalo – Dallas and Buffalo will battle this one out on Monday night. Well, Dallas will anyway. Dallas wins.
Fear not, my football fanatics, as my picks will go back to the normal excellence you are used to this week. Last week was an upside down weekend of football that threw virtually all of the people down on the ladder of picking success. Keep your head up, and know I will bring us back this week.
Week Four Record – 6-8
Season Record – 43-19
