While a lot of effort is put into wedding plans, the bachelorette party is often neglected until the last minute. Not to mention, the cost of the bachelorette party is rarely included in the budget. Of course, the maid or matron of honor is supposed to pay for it but that isn’t always possible. For these reasons it is important to plan an affordable bachelorette party.
Have an in home spa day. While a bachelorette party spa day can cost a hundreds per person, an in-home spa day with the help of your favorite Mary Kay of Avon lady who would be glad to demonstrate her wares will cost you a fraction of the price. The products you purchase can double as thank-you gifts. Add fun drinks and music to the pampering, and you have a party!
As a small departure from or continuance of an in home spa day, plan a bachelorette slumber party. As this will likely be your last slumber party ever (not including those you will have with your own kids), feel free to act as silly as possible, make prank calls to your groom, and watch romantic love movies all night.
Plan a bachelorette scavenger hunt. Make a list of crazy to-do’s and things to find. Some fun ideas found at bachelorette party.com include asking a cute guy for hemorrhoid cream, making (and wearing) a toilet paper veil, and throwing a tantrum in public. Take pictures, have fun, and be safe.
Instead of spending the evening in a limousine which can cost $1000 for the evening, choose a responsible driver from your group (give her and extra gift) and rent a luxury vehicle instead. This will cost a fraction of the cost as you don’t need to pay for a driver, who can very well be creepy. Another idea for a cheap limo is to call the same company who is handling wedding day transportation and cut a deal.
Have the party at a friends house instead of renting a room. Choose the person who has a house in a downtown area where there are alot of fun places to go within walking distance. Have that person help with the party plans as they will be aware of all of the best places to go in that area.
Take a road trip. Some bachelorette parties include a trip to an exotic place. For a less expensive version, you can take a road trip to the closest big city or beach, and rent a hotel suite. You can spend an entire weekend relaxing, sunning yourselves, and doing nothing.
My last tip is not what to do for your bachelorette party, but when to do it. Do not wait until the last day to have the bachelorette party as you don’t want to get tired out before the wedding. Also, if you are having a bachelorette weekend, do it two weeks to a month before the wedding so you are not obsessing over last minute details.
