Service review: Recently we went to the Red Lobster in Richmond, KY to eat for my little boys birthday. Walking into the door, I quickly noticed how friendly and polite the hosts were. It was kinda drizzling the rain and it is hard to manage getting the door with a young child, as all you mothers out there may know. I didn’t even have to worry about getting the door though because one of the hosts came and opened up the doors for me. I was very appreciative of that. When the host was taking us to a table he asked if we would need a highchair, which most places do. When I told him that a booth would be much better, he didn’t hesitate to take us to a booth in which there was a wall behind the seat. This was great because I could put my son in that seat and not have to worry about him bothering the people sitting behind us. He would only be bothering the wall. They were very considerate and thought the situation through in a quickly manner so I wouldn’t have to ask them however many times.
Our waiter was very nice and got us everything that we would need. He was quick to give us refills and everything that we needed without us having to ask. The only thing I had to ask him was for a to-go box at the end of the meal. I had to because I didn’t expect him to be a mind reader too. Since it was my little boy’s birthday we asked if they did anything special for children’s birthdays. He said unfortunately they didn’t but he would see if he could get another waiter or waitress and give my son a scoop of ice cream with a candle. Of course, he made sure that it would be okay with me first. After eating and we were walking out the door, my son wanted to look at the lobsters in the tank out front. We stopped to look at them, even though there weren’t many in the tank. Without asking, one of the hosts came up and got one of the lobsters out for my little boy to look at and touch. Everyone at this Red Lobster went out of their way and beyond expectations to make our visit a very pleasant one! I am very thankful to everyone for that and will be going back to eat there again. When we went it was on a Saturday afternoon, had it been one of the busier days of the week or around dinner time it may have been different. I’m sure even if it were busier they would have still done whatever they could have to make it very nice. I give them five stars on service!
Food Review: I ordered the Crab Linguini Alfredo lunch portion with a side order of the homemade chips. The pasta was cooked perfectly and they had just the right amount of alfredo sauce and crab meat. It was so delicious I ate it all. My son even helped me eat it. That’s saying something because he is a very picky eater. He chowed down on the homemade chips as well and liked them so much he wanted to take the rest with him. They were very good. They tasted like chips but they didn’t taste like your traditional potato chips that you buy a bag of at the grocery store. The cheese biscuits were extremely good as well. Served hot and before the meal so we could satisfy our hunger a little. My grandmother ordered a steak with a baked potato on the side. She said that the steak was cooked perfectly how she had ordered it and so was her baked potato. Although, the food was a little slower coming out of the kitchen then I had expected, there was no problem waiting for it. On the order that I got I will have to give it five stars because it was delicious and satisfying, especially for a picky eater!
Overall, based on the service and the food, I would highly recommend this place to everyone who lives or visits Richmond, KY.
