The Rolling Brook Apartments in Woodbridge, Virginia offers many amenities, a fair price and a great location. Woodbridge is generally considered a suburb of Washington, DC as most of its inhabitants travel north for work, but the city sustains itself with many businesses and recreational opportunities.
The apartment complex itself is located less than a mile from I-95. A convenient location to the interstate can save a commuter 10 minutes a day or more with signal lights and traffic getting to your place. Rolling Brook is only 10 minutes from Potomac Mills, one of the largest shopping areas in Virginia. Fairfax county is not far away either.
Parking is not assigned at Rolling Brook, but is never a problem. There are always spots available right in front of or near your unit. The complex is spread out, so it does not have the typical “on top of each other” feel like other apartment communities. The two clubhouses are centrally located with parking available there as well.
Rents are very affordable at Rolling Brook and also offer military discounts (amounting to $100 or more off the monthly rent). The rents range from $1000 for the smaller, standard units to $1500 or so for the larger, renovated ones. The regular units have an early 1980s feel to it, while the renovated ones sport black appliances and more of the finishing touches you would see in a model home. A newer unit will rent for $150 or so more per month because of the more modern features. There are a variety of lease lengths to choose from, which can lock your rent in for a longer period. 12 months is the minimum, while one can sign for longer if you wish. Pets are welcomed and add $30/pet onto your monthly rent. The community is definitely pet-friendly as there are courtesy bags located around the complex and ample grassy areas to walk your dog(s). The complex even has pet bags to clean up after your dog strategically located.
Rolling Brook has two clubhouse areas, both equipped with pools and gyms. The gyms are on the small size, just a few pieces of cardio equipment and a universal weight machine, but it is on par with the average apartment complex these days. The pools are rather small, maybe 10 feet by 20 feet with the deepest section 4 or 5 feet. Comcast and Verizon are the main internet providers for the complex. Rolling Brook allows satellite dishes to be installed off the patio areas, but with all the surrounding trees on the apartment grounds, getting a signal is highly unlikely (Sorry all the Directv fans out there).
The staff is very friendly and courteous, always willing to answer any questions and make anything from a work order request or paying the rent, painless. The trash receptacles always have room because they are emptied 2 or 3 times a week. The complex has a wide variety of renters, from young singles to older couples with children. Overall, Rolling Brook is above average in many areas, while only average in a few. It is definitely a good value for the location.
