Jorgeè’s Tex-Mex Café is located at 1722 Routh Street in One Arts Plaza and the hours of operation of the restaurant are Monday through Thursday from 9:00 A.M to 10:00 P.M, Friday from 9:00 A.M to 11:00 P.M and Saturday from 11:00 A.M to 11:00 P.M and Brunch is served on Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 A.M to 4:00 P.M.
The restaurants décor is very simple but with a Mexican touch with its earth colors, and reds plus the pictures on the wall representing photos of the people from Mexico, plus the place has a patio outside as well for when it is warm outside, and the prices are on the average side.
For their appetizers you can order some flautitas which is grilled ground beef and shredded chicken for $8.00, or the deluxe nachos which are beans, cheese, guacamole, sour cream and jalapenos with either beef or chicken fajita or even the West Tex-Mex botanas which is a mix of three flautas, three beef nachos, and three quesadillas for $12.00.
For their soups and salads you can order a clado de pozole which is shredded chicken, spicy hominy stew, lemon, oregano, chopped onions and tortillas soup for $10.00 or ensalada Americana for $7.00.
Then they have the Jorge Tex-Mex Classicos section and you can order the El Monterrey which is one beef taco, one cheese enchiladas, one beef chile relleno and one Guadalajara tostada for $14.00, or the Tampico which includes one naked chile relleno, one chicken flauta and one tostada for $12.00, or even the deluxe especial which includes one beef taco, one red cheese enchilada, one green cheese enchilada, a tamale, avocado salad and rice and beans for $14.00.
For their house specialties you can order the tampiqueno which is a boneless steak or chicken topped with pepper, one cheese enchilada, guacamole, rice and beans for $15.00 for chicken and $20.00 for steak, or the Monterrey hamburger which is a beef patty with also avocado slices for $10.00, or you can order the shrimp Diablo which are six spicy jumbo shrimps with a rice and avocado salad for $16.00.
And if you want you can order their egg dishes all day long, they are all served with beans, potatoes, bacon, and tortillas for $10.00 such as the Huevos Rancheros which are two eggs cooked over easy and a Ranchero sauce, or the Huevos con chorizo which is scrambled eggs with Mexican sausages or even the Huevos al gusto which include two eggs any style and tamales.
For dessert you can finish with an ice-cream burrito, a flan or a tres leches for $4.00.
