Little Katana is a fusion Asian restaurant located at 4527 Travis street and the hours of operations are Monday through Thursday from 11:00 A.M to 10:00 P.M, Friday and Saturday from 11:00 A.M to 11:00 P.M, and Sunday from 5:00 P.M to 10:00 P.M and Monday through Saturday the restaurant closes from 2:30 P.M to 5:00 P.M.
Little Katana offers a mix of a traditional steakhouse as well as a sushi bar, and the décor of the place is complete with modern Asian motifs and brick walls which give a very homey yet elegant feeling and it is a great restaurant for an undecided group since it brings Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Thai and American steakhouse cuisines together. The prices are on the average high side.
The restaurant offers a good choice of wine selections such as the Pepi Pinot Grigio from California for $7.00 a glass, or the Kendall – Jackson Vintner’s Sauvignon Blanc from California for $8.00 a glass, or even Fonseca Bin 27 for Portugal for $11.00. And for their sake selections you can order Gekkeikan Regular served warm for $5.00, the Hakushika Fresh and Light for $6.00 or even the Katana Ginjo Extra Dry for $7.00.
For their appetizers you can order the sizzling water dumplings which are crispy small dumplings stuffed with minced cilantro-seasoned beef for $8.00, or the appetizer sampler which includes Kalbi beef ribs, seared Ahi tuna, crispy calamari and sizzling water dumplings for $7.95.
For their steaks and entrées you can order the Hoisin lime chicken which is chicken breast, marinated in Hoisin and lime, grilled and served with root vegetable sauté for $16.00, or the orange ginger salmon which is pan seared salmon glazed with orange and ginger and served with sesame sautéed spinach and steamed rice for $24.00 or the rib-eye eight ounces for $22.00.
For their special sushi roll you can order the caterpillar roll, katana roll, dragon roll or charming roll for $15.00 or the spicy tuna, angel roll or salmon tower for $15.00. And for the favorite rolls you can order the salmon skin roll, spicy tuna roll, eel roll or spicy salmon roll for $7.00 or the Philadelphia roll, avocado roll, veggie roll or Louisiana roll for $6.00.
For their rice and noodles entrées you can order the Moo Shu beef Udon which is twice browned udon noodles topped with sautéed, thinly sliced sirloin, Shitake mushrooms and baby bok choy tossed in a spicy Hoisin soy sauce for $18.00 or the spicy Thai style seafood which is clams, shrimp, calamari and white fish sautéed with Thai spices, garlic, bell peppers for $20.00.
