Rio Ranch is located at 9999 Westheimer close to highway 6 and the hours of operations are from Monday through Thursday from 6:00 A.M to 10:00 P.M, Friday from 6:00 A.M to 11:00 P.M, Saturday from 7:00 A.M to 11:00 P.M, and Sunday from 7:00 A.M to 10:00 P.M. and the Sunday Brunch is served from 7:00 A.M to 2:00 P.M plus happy hour is served from Monday through Friday from 4:00 P.M to 7:00 P.M, the restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The restaurant has a very old ranch décor in their main dining room with wood chairs with a star cut out in them or the cactus design on the walls plus it offers also a fire place for a more comfort look and ambiance. The service is good and the plate sizes are definitely Texas size.
For their specialty drinks they offer the chocolate espresso tini which is a shot of espresso, Baileys and dark chocolate Godiva or even their Moulin Rouge which is Vodka, sweet and sour pineapple juice and triple sec.
For their appetizers you can order their Texas star sampler for $13.95, which is a combination of quesadillas, mashed potatoes, vegetable flautas, and smoked chicken wrapped in chili and cheese, or the chicken wings with blue ranch dressing for $9.95.
For their seafood section you can order the red snapper filet for $24.95 which comes with artichoke hearts and crab meat, or the yellow fin tuna which comes with toasted pine nuts, cucumber, tomatoes and a miso vinaigrette for $25.95 or even a fresh salmon stack wrapped in smoked bacon for $24.95, and all their entrées are served with a dinner salad and a side item.
Then they also have the Texas Ranch house classics such as their chicken fried sirloin steak for $16.95, which is handmade right there, or the Wood Grilled Mixed Grill which is venison sausage, BBQ duck and chili crusted quail with cornbread dressing and grilled asparagus for $22.95, or the San’s Chicken which is chicken breast stuffed with Andouille sausage, crawfish tails and sweet peppers, garnished with roasted corn and ranchero salsa and served with grilled asparagus for $22.95.
Then, of course their strong dishes are the wood grilled steak and The Peppered Filet, which is their signature steak for $36.95 which is 10 ounce Filet of beef, rolled in cracked black pepper, pan seared and topped with a Portobello mushroom cream sauce, but you can also order the 20 ounces Cowboy Cut Rib eye Steak for $36.95, the 12 ounces “Thick Cut” Sirloin Steak $26.95 or even the 12 ounces of New York Steak $31.95 just to name a few cuts.
