Revolver is a relatively new club; it has been open less than a year. It is nestled in old Overland Park, Kansas next to another popular bar The Other Place. Oddly laid out there are 6 booths in the front of the building which consist of the café. The have some great Mexican food plates such a Steak and Portobello Mushroom Quesadillas, Smothered Pork Burrito as big as the plate, an Carne Asada. They also have different salsas depending on how tolerable your pallet is for heavy heat.
If you are not particularly hungry but would like a good drink just walk past the booths to the automatic opening glass doors to the bar. The bar is 2-3 times as large as the restaurant area and even more exciting. There are booths here as well, bar tables, and perches finish out the sitting. There are stools to sit at the bar but you have to be open to everyone leaning over you and teasing with the bartender. The bartender is wonderfully friendly and can mix any drink you throw at him. The waitresses are also a sight, all very sexy and friendly.
The walls of the bar are covered in TV’s for all the videos they play. There is also a large liquor wall and a high bench for the waitresses and any adventurous soul to get up and dance for the room.
The music played on regular nights is old rock and new rock intermingled. You get Bon Jovi and AC DC as well as Buck Cherry. Some nights they have bands come in, and Fridays are there Hip Hop night.
The regular crowd is very eclectic. There are some college kids but mostly you will see late twenties and older. You will even find 50-60 yr olds dancing and singing along to the music just as lively as everyone else.
The drinks here are just amazing and average in price. Some of the favorites you always see passing in the bar are the Pearl Necklace (Pomegranate Vodka, White Godiva, and Cranberry), Orange Mojito, and the Mambo which is a delightful mix of Mandarin Orange, Orange Curacao, Apricot Brandy, and Orange and cranberry juice. If you don’t find anything you like on the drink list they have your standards like Corona all the way to your most obscure like a Scooby Snack.
The only drawback is that there is not a specific dance floor this is mostly a bar and restaurant. However if you feel like kicking up your feet to some Metallica usually you can shake what god gave you by your table and no one seems to mind.
