There are interesting things to see and hear while you hike at the Fitness Trail at Cleveland Park, which is located right off of Washington Street. According to an article on South Carolina State Trails Program’s website, the Fitness Trail is 3.3 miles long, and when you hike the trail, you are sure to enjoy the beautiful sight of the Reedy River where you may even see ducks wading through the water. Cleveland Park’s Fitness Trail is so close to the Greenville Zoo that you can even hear the exotic sounds of the zoo animals such as the loud screeching noises that the monkeys make. So, listening to these sounds would definitely make for an interesting hike at Cleveland Park’s Fitness Trail.
Not far from this trail, right off of South Main Street, is the Interpretive Trail at the Reedy River Falls Historic Park, which is indeed very scenic. Hiking this 0.5 mile trail, you will enjoy an awe-inspiring view of the Reedy River waterfalls which is certainly a magnificent sight to see. Your spirits will be lifted when you behold the beautiful flowers that adorn the Falls Park, and you will also enjoy walking across the park’s Liberty Bridge. Hiking here can be a learning experience as well since you can view historic remains of Greenville’s past in Falls Park such as the Vardry Mill, according to an article on South Carolina State Trails Program’s website.
If bird watching is one of your favorite hobbies, then you will love hiking at Conestee Nature Park 3.1 mile hiking trail which is located right off of Fork Shoals Road. You may see various species of birds at this park and at Lake Conestee which, according to an article on South Carolina State Trails Program’s website, is a habitat for wading birds such as the green heron and the egret. According to another article on Conestee Park’s website, the park may have more than 150 species of birds, and so it would be very entertaining to listen to the unique sounds that the various birds make. Hiking here will definitely be an experience you are sure to enjoy.
