Your body is a temple, but it is also a veritable collection of insanely fragile Faberge Eggs. Just like one of Mr. Faberge’s eggs can transform from priceless to worthless in the blink of an eye, so can the body go from being vibrant and healthy to sickly or even dead. Obviously, this is true in the case of bullets, but if you know where and how to land a blow, you can bring down even the most frightening of attackers with just your hand, or foot, or some kind of blunt instrument.
Ears
To momentarily stun a person just long enough to possibly break free and get away, simply take your hands and box them on their ears just as hard as you possibly can. Self-defense will not always be so easily accessible, but most molesters and their like rarely think about protecting the ears. If nothing else, the lightning fast shock and surprise of the act may be enough to get away from a hold they have you. If done hard enough and with precision you can actually cause a fairly high degree of physical pain, as well.
Tailbone
Also known by its unfortunate scientific name coccyx, the tailbone is an escape hatch just waiting to be opened. Although it may be difficult to get into a position to do great damage when an attacker finally is comfortable enough to turn his back on you, the coccyx should always be kept in mind. If it is at all possible to get some kind of object with which to aim directly at the tailbone. You need not even be behind an attacker to use this; if you can find something located low enough and protruding forward, you can push your attacker backward and attempt to crush his coccyx from the force against the object. If not, then use your foot or even your head. If done with enough force you can actually kill a person. Without deadly force you can still put them down on the ground crying like delicate Scooter Libby when he hear his guilty verdict.
Nose
A sharp, hard punch to the nose itself can cause considerable pain, but you may walk away with blood on your hands. Literally. To figuratively walk away with blood on your hands, as well as cause not just pain, but a better potential for unconsciousness, aim not for then nose itself but the summit: right where the forehead begins to curve outward into a schnoz. Another better target for attacking the nasal area is just below the nose. You know that little indentation between your nose and lips? That has a name. It is called the philtrum. A nicely delivered punch to the philtrum area can succeed in breaking both the nose and a few teeth. If you can get your hands on a hammer, this little dandy can also lead to long-time unconscious, perhaps even permanent unconsciousness.
Back of the Hand
Any time you can get to the back of the hand, it’s an opportunity for escape. The back of the hand is a land of much greater opportunity for pain than the palm. If you can get your hands on a pencil or pen or golf tee or anything sharp that you can easily access when the moment is right, driving that object into the back of your attacker’s hand will almost guarantee you an opportunity to escape. And if your means of escape are not easily accessed, attacking the back of the hand gives you the opportunity to inflict further damage by kicking as hard as you can at the person’s coccyx or smacking them good around the nose.
