With aging in general, many aspects of our health experience a decrease in function one way or another. That is something we will never entirely be able to get away from. However, there are many things we can change with regard to our lifestyles that can slow this process. Especially with regard to our fertility. The whole idea of ceasing to have children past our mid-thirties, is really only unique to our modern times. It was very common to have babies in our 40’s and early 50’s prior to the onset of the use of birth control, and it wasn’t so looked down upon. It was just something that you saw more of in those times, something that was just considered a natural part of life. We will find that we might not conceive as often as we did back in our 30’s, but if we are willing to implement a lifestyle that keeps us thriving, we will still be very capable of it.
Keeping ourselves in good digestion is a major key with regard to all of this. Without good digestion, the nourishment needed by the body…namely the endocrine system will be unable to carry out what it needs to do to help us conceive. One of the main reasons our digestion declines as we age is because we secrete less digestive enzymes. Hydrochloric acid, one of the substances our stomach produces takes a big dip as well. These components are imperative in getting nutrients broken down so that they can be assimilated and utilized. Our bodies remain undernourished if we do not have good digestion. If we are trying to conceive, and are more mature, the single most valuable thing we can do for ourselves is to help our bodies create the best digestion atmosphere that we can, for the best conception capability that we can possibly achieve. You might not think you have any control over your digestion capability, but after implementing these changes into my own lifestyle, I went on to have 2 healthy baby boys, one at the age of 43, the other at the age of 45. This occurred after turning 40 and having 5 consecutive miscarriages. I’ll explore some of the ways I did this.
Raw whole food for starters. This stuff has power. Lots of it. Thats because it contains lots of its own enzymes. Enzymes are the catalysts that make things happen. Without a good dose of these in us, no matter what our age may be, we will experience consequences. Consequences that involve less of our own bodies abilitity to thrive eagerly. At an advanced maternal age we need our bodies to be eager about thriving, so they will be eager to reproduce. The enzymes within raw food help to break down its own nutrition, making it an easier digestion process for our own digestive system. The easier it is for us to digest our own food, the more nutrition we get out to various parts of our bodies….namely our reproductive system, so it may thrive. Without plenty of this food we will fall short of our goal. Maximize nutrition with raw food, its paramount.
Supplementing with digestive enzymes at every meal is another very helpful way to enable us to recieve the most nutrition possible from what we eat. They are available in many formulas at local health food stores everywhere. My suggestion is to make sure the one you take has Hydrochloric Acid in it. It will be referred to as Betaine Hydrochloride, because it is derived from beets. There are many formulas that don’t include this and just have Pancreatic Enzymes in them. However, because we have such a decline in Hydrochloric Acid with age, I feel including this very important nutrient is critical to helping us achieve the desired affect. Through my own research I was able to find out that folic acid, an important B Vitamin with regard to conceptual success, need strong levels of Hydrochloric Acid to be absorbed well. Making sure this is included in your digestive enzyme is essential for well rounded digestion in general, so don’t be without it. You can also use some apple cider vinegar before meals, but if your dealing with age related infertility you probably will want something a bit more aggresive.
Another aspect of digestion to to think about is elimination. It may not seem like something you’d like to spend alot of time thinking about, but as we age this slows down as well. We need to make sure that we are eliminating very regularly. One reason its important is, it is a way for us to rid ourselves of toxin. If toxin is not eliminated promptly it will recirculate and find its way back into our system, continuing to make it difficult to have optimum, thriving fertility. Make sure your elimination is adequate by including plenty of fiber in your diet so things move along well.
One last thing to add to this mix is exercise. Doing at least 30 minutes daily will do so very much to improve digestion. It would be unfortunate to be without it. The key is to find something that you will like so its easier for you to stick with it. Consistency is the key. Its just going to get you that much closer to the baby you so desire, so keep that in mind if you find it hard to get motivated.
Maximizing digestion is the one aspect of age related infertility improvement that should not be taken lightly. Without it we will be unable to reach our goal, and if we’re racing against the clock, thats something we will want to avoid.
