Spa night at the Melting Pot restaurant has got to be the ultimate in girl’s night out. I attended my first Spa Night last month in Indianapolis. I am ready to go back again. Unfortunately, the reservations fill fast.
Our night began with a choice between two martinis; you can substitute for a non-alcoholic drink as well. Actually, a woman in our party substituted her drink by leaving out many ingredients and ending up with basically a fuzzy navel!
We then moved on to a choice between two salads. We each ordered a raspberry vinaigrette dressed salad with nuts and blue cheese. I’d omit the blue cheese next time, it was too overpowering. Soon after, the cheese fondue arrived. It’s expertly prepared for you right at the table. There were choices here too. We went for the Wisconsin blend at one end of our table and the Fiesta blend at the other. I sat near the Fiesta cheese and really didn’t care to try the Wisconsin blend ours was so good. It arrives with a variety of breads and veggies to dip. The Fiesta also comes with chips.
The spa part of the evening began with a card to fill out at tableside and we were to choose between a facial and make up application, or a hand massage and a skin analysis. I opted for the facial, which was actually a mini dermabrasion facial. The hand massage and skin analysis also looked interesting and relaxing. The massage was actually more of a full back massage on a massage chair by the masseur’s hands, not a massage of your hands. This was a bit confusing when presented to us at tableside. The spa features are done in a separate room of the restaurant and you are invited to go to the spa during your meal. However, leaving your food isn’t a problem because it doesn’t spoil or get cold.
We also were given a choice of chocolate fondue. We chose the original, which has peanut butter added, and plain milk chocolate. Fresh strawberries, bananas and pineapple, a slice of cheesecake, tasty marshmallows, pound cake and brownies for you to dip accompany the fondue. You can’t really go wrong in my book when there is chocolate involved.
The spa offered us a free facial to be scheduled at their establishment. They collect your information and call each woman to schedule. I understand it is truly free although you are welcomed to upgrade to other services.
Before leaving, we were handed a small gift bag with a good sized bar of melting chocolate to use at home, a coupon worth ten dollars off a return visit to the Melting Pot restaurant and a bottle of lotion.
I did ask the spa employees if they were at every spa night, our Melting Pot sponsors this fun event once a month and eagerly invite return business. They said they were there every event but they try to offer different services each time to make it interesting for repeat customers.
The evening took about two hours. It was an all-inclusive meal including tax and tip for thirty-five dollars. I am not sure where you can get a good meal, a dermabrasion facial and good company for that price!
Note: not all locations offer a spa night. Call your closest location for further information. I did notice that there were different kinds of events offered at different locations like Fondue Banquet Packages, Date Night Specials, and Ladies’ Night Out. You can also sign up for The Melting Pot’s Club Fondue at their website and enjoy special announcements as well as a free Chocolate Fondue for two! Call your closest location because not all events were listed on our local website location.
