Summer Gay-Friendly Destinations

by wet bin

Due to an increasingly open gay population in the world, there comes an increasing demand for gay-friendly vacation destinations–especially over the summer. Whether you prefer staying in the United States or traveling abroad, there are so many gay friendly destinations you won’t know where to check out first!

5.San Fransisco has a huge gay scene and an even better gay tourist scene. From gay friendly restaurants, hotels, bars and attractions, this would be a wonderful west-coast way to spend your summer vacation.

San Fransisco’s top gay hotel is The Clift, located at 429 Geary Street. The Clift is a very artsy place, focused on style and is located just steps away from the Theater district. You can have a top shelf coctail in their lounge or sprawl out in your beautiful suite. For more information, you can call The Clift at 800-828-6544.

Oola is a fresh and fantastic San Fransisco restaurant, not strictly gay, but very gay friendly. They offer fresh and organic meats and produces prepared as, what they call “San Fransisco cuisine.” Their wine list is great and the staff is down to earth, friendly and very knowledgable. You can learn more at http://www.oola-sf.com.

The Castro district is it for the greatest attraction in San Fran. Over 18 bars lining the few blocks, as well as boutiques, shops and the most interesting people you’ll see in your life.

4. Aruba is a very gay-friendly vacation destination. The biggest attraction is the beach and if you’re in it to soak up the rays and play in the sun, Aruba would be a fantastic choice. There are many gay-friendly resort options, my favorite being Tierra del Sol Resort & Country Club.Tierra del Sol features customizable furnished villa rentals, so you can stay in the style which you prefer. They also boast the only 18 hole golf course on the island, a full service fine dining restaurant and close to beaches. You can find out more information at www.tierradelsol.com/.

3. The Royal In, Cancun. This Adult-only and gay-friendly all-inclusive resort in Cancun, Mexico (only 15 miles from the airport) is a fantastic vacation location. Rooms offer ocean-view showers, and the all inclusivity of the deal is unlimited drinking and food until you can’t drink or eat anymore. There are spas, nearby golf courses (with complimentary greens fees) and the all-mighty white sandy beaches. The list of amenities wouldn’t even fit here, so take a look at their site at http://www.si-mexico.com/hotels/cancun/royal_in_cancun.htm.

2. Are you not really sure where to go for vacation, but know that you want to do something outstanding as well as gay-frinedly. Check out http://www.atlantisevents.com for information on their special vacation packages offered this year and upcoming years. Atlantis hosts all gay crusies, resort trips and everything under the sun to vacation with and network with other gay men and women. Upcoming events included on their website include a Summer Baltic Cruise and an Italian, Egypt and Greek Isles cruise at the end of the summer.

1.The all time best gay-friendly destination is South Florida! From Fort Lauderdale to South Beach, there are a number of boy-only resorts, gay friendly hotels/motels and gay nightlife that will knock your socks off! Focusing on Fort Lauderdale, the best of the best are:

Villa Venice is one of Fort Lauderdale’s most prestigious gay men’s resort, including great amenities like a spa and a clothing-optional pool. Villa Venice has great rooms and suite options and for special events like holidays, they host great holiday parties! You can check out their website at www.villavenice.com for more information.

Georgi’s Alibi is synonymous with best gay bar in Fort Lauderdale. A great (and open late) place to meet gay locals as well as other tourists stopping by for a good time. With fantastic daily specials and low drink prices, there’s no reason not to stay until you have to be chauffered back to the hotel. For more info, you can visit georgiesalibi.com/.

So many other locations in the world, but these are by far the most gay-friendly vacation ideas that you will come across any time soon.
