The holiday shopping season is approaching rapidly. The question is, what will be the hot items this year for the holidays. Well if one recent survey by the Solutions Research Group is correct, it will be digital lifestyle products at the top of many wish lists. The survey conducted by Solutions Research Group surveyed 1,200 American consumers throughout the country to get their results. The results are clear as 76 percent of the survey participants had at least one digital lifestyle product on their wish lists for the upcoming holiday season. These results were released in a recent press release from Solutions Research Group.
Some of the hottest items that are at the top of the list are flat screen high definition televisions. According to the press release 35% of the survey group mentioned them being on their list. Among those that are considering purchasing these items though only 2% will be using the full capability of the HD sets, as that is the percentage of survey participants that said they would get a HD box from their cable provider.
Both laptops and desktop computers remain popular on wish lists for this year’s holiday season. 20 percent of the participants included laptops on their wish lists, and 14 percent included desktops. They were the second and fourth most popular items on wish lists respectively. The third most popularly requested item is also used with computers as it is a digital camera. Further down the list was the higher priced digital video camera’s coming in at #7 with nine percent of survey participants saying they were on their lists.
Items that do not involve computers that remain popular on the lists of survey participants involve their phones and cars. GPS units were number five on the list with one out of 10 survey participants saying they were on their list for the holidays. The same number of survey participants are looking for cell phones. Other hot items include gaming systems. The Nintendo Wii and Sony PS3 both made the list with the Wii having a higher popularity, showing up on nine percent of survey participants wish lists. Meanwhile the PS3 showed up on 75 of the lists.
The last item on the list for the top ten was Blu-ray and HD-DVD players. This rounded out the top ten items requested by survey participants for the upcoming holiday season. If the survey is indicative of what will happen in the market place this holiday season, it’s clear that electronics will once again be one of the highly sought after items for the 2007 Holiday shopping season.
