If you are looking for an indoor swimming experience either for recreation or fun, The Salem Community Center is the place to go. There is a swimming pool, jacuzzi, and wading pool for the children. Memberships are available by monthly for $72 or yearly for $924 for the entire family, couples for $804, or individuals for $744, payable in full or in monthly installments. Exercise equipment, a basketball gym, exercise classes and a walking/running track are also available. If you just want to visit for a day, just pay $8 for an unrestricted pass for ages 15 – 59 years old and $6 a day for ages 4 to 14 and over 60 years older. If you want to set up a pool party for a birthday or sports banquet, set it up on Friday through Sunday for 1 hour and a half at $8.50 per person, which includes pizza, chips and drinks. This indoor pool is one of Salem’s joys, and brings a lot of visitors. Not only can you swim, but you can work out, and hang out with your friends.
Firestone Park located in Columbiana, Ohio provides an outdoor swimming environment. This swimming pool is in a very beautiful park, with beautiful foliage and a quiet atmosphere. Firestone Pool has a twisting water slide that sends you swirling into the deep side of the pool. For the kiddies, there is a smaller size pool, so they can enjoy the cool feeling on a sunny day as well. Open Monday through Sunday till 8:30pm every day, and opens daily at 11am except on Sundays they open at 1pm. If you are looking for a one day admission, the cost for students is $3 per person and $5 a day for adults. If you plan to visit all summer long, a season pass would be great for you. For a family of 4, you are looking at $125 each if you live in Columbiana, if not it’s $200, and an individual is $50 for a resident, and a non-resident is $75. Passes provide you swimming fun all summer long for one price, no matter how many times you visit. Firestone Park Pool also offers pool parties and swimming lessons from 9pm to 11pm each night. If you plan to have less than 75 people, the cost is only $75 per event plus $20 each life guard. If you plan to have more than 75 people, it will cost you $100 per event and $20 per life guard. Swimming lessons are only $10 per person, and is very beneficial for those needing to learn how to swim.
