Taste of Frankfort Avenue will be back for the 17th time this weekend! Head to Frankfort Avenue in Louisville, Kentucky on Sunday, June 28, 2009, for the Taste of Frankfort Avenue. The theme for this year is “A World of Tastes on Frankfort Avenue.”
About thirty signature restaurants will be featured at the seventeenth (17th) annual Taste of Frankfort Avenue, hosted by the Clifton Center. The restaurants will be spread throughout two stories of the Clifton Center. The restaurants expected to participate are as follows: West Bistro, Basa Restaurant, Bluegrass Brewing Company, Bourbons Bistro, Brendan’s Restaurant & Pub, Crave Café’ & Catering, Caffe Classico, Consumers Choice Coffee, Fat Jimmy’s, The Grape Leaf, Heine Brothers Coffee, Homemade Ice Cream and Pie Kitchen, The Irish Rover, J. Gumbo’s on Frankfort, Java Brewing Company, L & N Wine Bar and Bistro, Nancy’s Bagel Grounds, North End Café, Porcini, Shiraz Mediterranean Grill, Sol Aztecas Mexican Grill, Sweet Surrender Dessert Café, The Sweet Tooth, Tony Boombozz, Varanese, Volare, Zen Garden and Zen Tea House.
The evening will include a treasure hunt. The winner of the treasure hunt will be rewarded with a party for thirty (30) people, either in their home or at the Clifton Center.
Guest will also be treated to cooking demonstrations, special exhibits and live entertainment. For an extra twenty dollars ($20) guest can buy a raffle ticket and be entered into a drawing for a “Taste Tour.” Two names will be drawn. The prize will be meals for four (4) people at twelve (12) restaurants on Frankfort Avenue.
Guest can also bid on a Silent Auction. Auction items to bid on will include: A week’s vacation for six in a Colorado vacation home, a hot hair balloon ride during the September Balloon race, throwing out the first pitch at a Louisville Bats baseball game, Nashville overnight and Titans tickets, a guided neighborhood bike tour by Joe Ward of Freewheeling Around Louisville fame, a luncheon and tour of the Woodford Reserve Distillery, a Go Green Tour of Louisville’s Irish neighborhoods, and dining out opportunities. The dining out opportunities will include a “River Road dining Tour.” The dining tour features meals for four (4) people from five Louisville restaurants.
The Taste of Frankfort Avenue is hosted by the Clifton Center, located at 2117 Payne Street in Louisville, Kentucky. The price for dining is forty dollars ($40). All proceeds from the event will go towards reduced prices for non-profit organizations to use the space at the Clifton Center.
“A World of Tastes on Frankfort Avenue” will be on Sunday, June 28, 2009. The event begins at 4:00 pm and ends at 7:00pm.
