Can Michigan bounce back from their 0 – 2 start? Is Penn State the best team in the Big Ten even though they are the third Big Ten team in the rankings? Is Wisconsin really a top 10 team? These are just some of the questions we’ll find out in these Big Ten games this season.
Penn State at Michigan – September 22nd
Michigan started 0 – 2 and have no chance of winning a National Championship but they get a chance to start over and try and win the Big Ten. Unfortunately Michigan gets probably the best team in their first game. The winner of the Penn State and Michigan game will have a leg up on the rest of the conference.
Wisconsin at Penn State – October 13th
Wisconsin is currently the highest ranked Big Ten team but Penn State is probably the best team in the Big Ten. The winner of this game could possibly be the Big Ten Champion at the end of the year.
Penn State at Indiana – October 20th
On October 13th Penn State plays Wisconsin and on October 27th Penn State plays Ohio State. Sandwiched in between there is an Indiana team that has started 3 – 0. Could it be a trap game for the Nittany Lions?
Ohio State at Penn State – October 27th
I don’t mean to list every Penn State game or anything; they just seem to have all the tough early games. If Penn State gets through the Ohio State game unscathed then it’s smooth sailing from there against Purdue, Temple, and Michigan State.
Michigan at Michigan State – November 3rd
After the Penn State game Michigan can start to pad their Big Ten record against Northwestern, Purdue, Illinois, and Minnesota. But if Michigan looks ahead to their last two games of the season against Wisconsin and Ohio State then Michigan State could pick the Wolverines off.
Wisconsin at Ohio State – November 3rd
The Wisconsin Badgers and the Ohio State Buckeyes are the two highest ranked teams in the polls currently. Either these teams will be playing for first place in the Big Ten or if they lose to Penn State then they’ll be playing for second place in the Big Ten.
Illinois at Ohio State – November 10th
Ohio State has a pretty easy schedule until the middle of October. Then Ohio State plays Michigan State, Penn State, Wisconsin, Illinois and Michigan. Either the Illinois game could be a way to bounce back after a brutal back-to-back with Penn State and Wisconsin or Ohio State could get on a losing streak and Illinois could surprise them.
Michigan at Wisconsin – November 10th
Penn State and Ohio State both look better than Wisconsin after last week but Wisconsin certainly could still win the Big Ten and even Michigan could turn it around. There is a little bit of a chance that these two teams are playing for the Big Ten title.
Ohio State at Michigan – November 17th
Ohio State and Michigan is a big game every year. Even though Michigan has new life with the conference season starting they could have two conference losses by the time they get to Ohio State. That won’t stop Michigan from trying to ruin Ohio State’s season though.
Indiana at Purdue – November 17th
I doubt the final game of the year between Indiana and Purdue will be for the Big Ten title but right now they look like the two best teams other than the Big Ten teams that are ranked. The final game between these two could be for third or fourth place and a better bowl game.
