There are several nice home owned restaurants to get good sit down or take out morning meals. There are over 30; however, only a portion of those serve in the mornings.
There are a few places that people will say are the absolute, most wonderful places to eat in our town which you which you will soon find out.
First of all let me tell you a little bit about our town. Rochester is a small town located in Fulton County, Indiana. It is in general a very interesting town to visit and find history on. It is the birthplace of Elmo Lincoln who was the actor in the silent Tarzan movies. Also of a famous sculptor John Chamberlain.
I have to say we do have a fair enough amount of restaurants for such a population of 6,414 and of families totaling 1,734. I found this information, according to the census of Rochester IN done in the year 2000 found at http://rochesterin.cu.myareaguide.com/stats.html
I’m going to start with the number one place for area people to eat, and even travel to from area towns, such as Argos, Kewanna, Grass Creek, Akron, Talma, Tiosa and more. The most favorite place for breakfast that everyone is talking about is the Evergreen Restaurant located at 530 Main Street, Rochester Indiana, 46975. They can be reached at (574) 223-1809 to find out more about their menu and operation times. I do know they are closed on Sundays.
Another wonderful place to eath breakfast is Jarrety’s Place. Jarrety’s is already getting reviews online. Not only do they get reviews from local towns but even one from Washington DC now that is impressive. You can find them at 701 Main Street Rochester IN and their phone number is 574-223-7101.
Jim Dillinger says the New Ulgaldes (you’ll find it below) has a good breakfast. So does Jarrettys place.
The Rochester Bagel & Deli at 2322 kE 9th Street in Rochester is definitely one of the best. You should definitely make your way there for breakfast. Try giving them a call at 574-224-3354 to find out what their opening time is and what they have on their menu. Better yet, just stop in! There is surely something you will like. Tara Smoker of Rochester says “This place is her favorite and that the Jet Tea’s are the best.”
Sandy Collins who lives in our town, says “Ugalde’s is a nice place to eat breakfast”. I have eaten there too and I enjoy the atmosphere and the food is fresh. Ugalde’s is located at 433 N State Road 25 Rochester, IN 46975 574-223-5262
The next on the list are not in any specific order but are noted by people in the Rochester area to be good places to get your early morning meals.
A newer but great place to try is Tweedle Dee’s. They are located at 720 N St. Rd. 25 and their phone number is 574-223-7998. I have not heard a single thing wrong with this one. Don Allen of Rochester likes to eat at Tweedle Dee’s.
If you’re on the Highway 31 either North or South and don’t want to come into town you can find Pardize Plaza Truck Stop. It’s address is 486 S 50 E Rochester, IN 46975 574-223-5005 Sandy Collins of Rochester also said she doesn’t mind eating at the Truck Stop for breakfast.
We also have another place that people mention often and that would be Alejandra’s located at 2077 Main Street in Rochester. They can be contacted at (574) 223-5232 if you’d like more information as well. I have not personally eaten there myself but I know that they have been around for several years and most of the time if a Restaurant is not liked in this town they will either cut out breakfast or completely close a restaurant, so in that case, I would say they decent as well, since they are still serving.
You can also try Pat’s Landing 1305 ewing lake manitou rochester 574-223-8950 You get a view of the lake from here and they also serve breakfast. I ate there once before and I did like it.
Rochester Indiana also has several fast food restaurants that serve breakfast including, Burger King, Mcdonalds and Dairy Queen.

This article is based on asking around my home town at least 15 -20 random strangers of the best places to eat breakfast along with a few friends. If anyone is not included please contact me and I will add you to this list.
As with anything else, individual results will vary. So if you are just stopping by and are not staying for long and want to get the best I’d go with the ones at the top of the list.
