QSR Magazine recently released the 2007 Best in Drive-Thru report, a statistical analysis of each of America’s top fast food chain drive thrus rated for speed, accuracy, and customer service. Each section of the report breaks down the elements of our fast food nation, the drive thru ordering process that many American’s count on (for better, or worse) on a daily basis. Speed was gauged by 200-600 participants in the study, each one clocking in the average time in seconds it took from order placement to receipt of the goods. Here are the results of the top ten speediest drive-thru chains in 2007:
With an average time of 138.5 seconds, Wendy’s clocks in as the fastest and most efficient drive thru opportunity. With its value menu and plenty of seasonal options, Wendy’s continues to be one of America’s leading choices for old fashioned hamburgers.
It takes an average of 152.6 seconds to get through the Checkers line, and beating Taco Bell in just under 10 seconds. Checkers has earned America’s choice for diner-style chicken sandwiches, shakes, and French fries.
3. Taco Bell
Battling dangerously close to McDonald’s, but beating it by 4 short seconds, Taco Bell continues to draw the late night crowds with speedy service, clocking in at 163.1 seconds.
McDonald’s makes it to #4 with an average time of 167.1 seconds, a speedy spot to pick up the Big Mac or classic double cheeseburger.
5. Long John Silver
Fish fans rejoice as Long John Silver makes it to the top 5; clocking in at 177.9 seconds, it’s a top choice when you’ve only got 3 minutes for a food run.
6. Burger King
Burger King continues to pump out its signature French fries and Whopper Jrs. with speed in mind, offering efficient service under 3 minutes; average time in the BK line is 179.9 seconds.
With plenty of roast beef sandwiches and curly fries for all, Arby’s clocks in with 190.1 seconds.
When the craving for chicken and biscuits has you up all night, this southern fast food chain serves up plenty of home cookin’ in 190.3 seconds.
9. Taco John’s
An alternative to the ‘Bell, Taco john’s serves up addictive seasoned potatoes and stuffed burritos in 192.5 seconds.
Fried, grilled, or roasted chicken sandwiches are the specialty at Chick-fil-A, and you can get your favorite in no time flat; the chain takes the #10 spot at 194.3 seconds.
